Overall, I absolutely love Honeybook. I initially signed up for it when there was a great deal and didn't hesitate to renew when the time came. I mainly use it to streamline my new client onboarding process, which alone makes it worth it. All the other features are just a bonus. What I appreciate about Honeybook is that it provides me with multiple tools within one software. I don't need a separate scheduling tool, a CRM, an invoicing tool, or a form builder for my website. Honeybook handles all these tasks, making it incredibly simple to keep everything in one place. There are some aspects that aren't very intuitive, so I often have to use the help resources or contact customer support for assistance. However, the support team is very approachable and simplifies things greatly. I switched to Honeybook because I needed more from the software I was using. Honeybook solved several problems at once for me.

It's been largely successful, allowing us more time to focus on our projects instead of worrying about client relations timing and logistics. I appreciate HoneyBook's thoroughness in detailing contact information, project history, and communication points relevant to our specific clients. It's been incredibly easy to organize leads, inquiries, and potential client leads. I also appreciate the automated features for sending contracts, invoices, and follow-up emails. However, I haven't fully mastered all aspects of the software yet.

Promises Much, Delivers Little: Honeybook's Unfulfilled Potential
I found the Honeybook app visually appealing and promising, but its cumbersome user interface left me feeling frustrated. Despite using it for almost a year, something just didn't seem to connect. We eventually switched from Honeybook to a program better suited to our industry. I liked the clean look and feel of the app, and the ability to add images and customize the appearance of contracts, flyers, brochures, and more. Adding a custom form field to our website was easy. The automation feature seemed good, but we didn't really use it. A major frustration was that in contracts, you can only add line items at the bottom of the invoice. This meant that if we wanted to add a line to the top of a long invoice, we had to add it at the bottom and drag it all the way up, which was extremely tedious and time-consuming. It made me question whether we were wasting more time trying to use this cumbersome app than just doing things.

Before discovering Honeybook, payment processing was a challenge for me. I now appreciate the automated convenience it provides. I simply set my templates and it handles the rest, sending invoices, reminders, and keeping everything organized. It even auto-deposits funds into my account, which is crucial for my business. Running my own business can be overwhelming, especially when clients contract via email and forms through my website. Honeybook assists me in managing invoicing, payment processing, contracts, client communication, and client surveys. It even has a feature that allows me to connect with other local professionals on projects, which is very useful. However, I wish it had a more upscale look in terms of fonts, colors, and user experience. My brand is a luxury brand and I want my customers to feel that they're still receiving a luxury experience when they're transferred to the contract or payment portion of our interactions. I chose HoneyBook because the pricing was really affordable at the time.

My trial period went smoothly, I found the video tutorials helpful, and I was able to operate everything on my first try, so I didn't see a need to switch.

However, the software currently lacks a scheduling feature, although I've heard they are working on it. I appreciate the option to add an employee without them seeing the contract, just the logistics. I chose HoneyBook as I was an early user and they guided me through the process. I value Honeybook for its flexible pricing, particularly for those using a different checkout option or just starting out. I'm surprised more platforms don't provide this option for beginners. Since I started using Honeybook, they've consistently improved the software, even adding a fantastic feature to streamline the customer journey. However, I hope they will allow us to fully customize our project pipeline in the future, as not everyone follows the same process and there are default elements I can't remove. I also wish there was a simpler way to direct someone to the item sale page, instead of taking them through a pipeline, as we all get leads differently and I'd like to skip a step for some people. I switched to HoneyBook because it offers more features beyond just calendar booking and payments.
