However, it can occasionally be too complex and disorganized for end users, for example, tables don't have a simple search feature and the solution of using another table as a search box is not very neat. Now, Coda has become my primary platform for most tasks that don't require high processing power, such as statistics or image analysis. I value the feature that allows multiple users to collaborate on a document in real time, similar to Google Docs, without the need to switch between applications. However, I wish Coda included a statistical analysis feature for our tables and charts, even if it's just simple averages and counts based on specific criteria. While it's easy to use once you get the hang of it, a new user needs to dedicate a significant amount of time to understand Coda's numerous features and its language. I switched to Coda from several other programs, including Excel and Google Docs, because Coda offered most of the functionalities of these individual programs in one place.

On a professional level, I've used it to create project briefs and manage my projects and finances. It's incredibly easy to start with Coda, and you can create something truly useful within minutes. My only concern with Coda is its scalability. It can become incredibly slow with very few rows. While I recognize that Coda is working hard to improve this, I would recommend anyone to check the feasibility of their application by conducting a quick test to see if performance is likely to be an issue. I switched to Coda because of its promise to be able to create apps.

Two Weeks to Fall for Coda's Power and Flexibility
It took me just a fortnight to become enamored with Coda. The initial setup was a bit rough, but the power and flexibility it provides makes it entirely worthwhile. The free tier is more than enough for most individual users. As a manager, I found the team plan to be the best as it's the only app needed to consolidate everything. Coda is incredibly powerful. I value the ability to centralize all the data my team uses in one document. The one feature that urgently needs to be deployed or improved is the 2-way sync of lookups, both for the same table and different tables. I opted for Coda because it's rapidly improving and currently offers the most features per dollar. I switched from Notion, which is a great product, but it's too limited in terms of buttons, connections, integrations, and automations.

1 Times Superior to Notion.
I find Coda to be 1 times better than Notion. I used Notion for a while, but once I discovered Coda and tried it, I was won over by its functionality. I had been eagerly waiting for them to add the Full Size layout, and was thrilled to find out they've now implemented it. Currently, the only advantage Notion has is its Windows app, but when it comes to browser use, Coda outshines Notion tenfold in terms of functionality and formulas.

I have successfully integrated all customer orders from our contact center with our production and logistics team using a single document on Coda. This software is incredibly versatile and each week, we find more ways to enhance it. The possibilities are limitless and despite this, they continue to improve and launch new features every week. The community around Coda is close-knit and they are very open to feedback. The only downside is a limitation in their API which has caused some issues when integrating documents to other apps through Zapier. When the documents become too large, the API starts to fail. However, this can be easily resolved with a better document architecture and backup automations. I switched to Coda because it's much more powerful and integrated with other apps.

I use Coda for individual notes on smaller projects as its block limits prevent me from using it for larger ones. It serves as a single location for my meeting notes, workshops, and creative outputs, enabling me to organize my thoughts more effectively than with our G Suite setup. I also find Coda useful for user interviews and research, as it allows me to create views of an interview script for each session and review all sessions side by side, with embedded videos. However, I've faced limitations due to my inability to fully integrate it into my work to justify paying for an account. I shifted a lot of my personal use to Notion when Coda's pricing strategy impacted half of my live documents. I also don't find it powerful or reliable enough to advocate for it as a team-wide tool yet. Their initially complex pricing strategy, which led to a "This doc is too big and will become read only in 14 days" warning, was a significant pain point for me.
