      I have been using Act-On since its first version. Over time, it has evolved, adding features similar to SalesForce, but it still lacks full enterprise features. Some features that were added in previous versions have been removed, such as the ability to add external program access. I appreciate the ability to add tables, but I am disappointed by the cost. Until a few years ago, Act-On was a perpetual license. However, the shift to a subscription model has led potential customers to consider other lower-cost subscription products. I suspect this change may have slowed down the acquisition of new customers for Act-On.

      Overall, I would give Act-On a low pass. My experience was tainted by issues with customer service, slightly high pricing, and lack of proper development. If I had the chance to go back, I would have chosen HubSpot or Marketo. Currently, after using Act-On for 3-4 years, we have cancelled our account and are now using a stack of SaaS solutions tied into our practice management system. This is more cost-efficient, user-friendly, and offers better customer service. I would advise businesses considering Act-On due to the price of competitors to use a stack approach instead. Using Vision6/Campaign Monitor/MailChimp in tandem with a better landing page provider (Unbounce, Instapage) linked to a CRM would be a better choice. I would particularly warn against Act-On due to their poor service, especially for Australian-based customers. The system was easy to use and the set-up process for lead nurturing, forms, creating newsletters, and other tools were useful. However, the negatives outweighed the positives.
