      Mailgun: A Developer-Friendly, Cost-Effective Transactional Email Solution

Mailgun used to be one of the most developer-friendly transactional email service providers until they removed their free plan. Despite this, I still find it a really good tool due to its ease of implementation and support by different plugins and software. I find configuring DNS easy, so I have no issues with deliverability. I appreciate the dashboard, which offers good logs and graphs. The documentation is comprehensive and I used to enjoy the 10k emails on the free plan. The prepaid plan is okay. I like the API and interface. However, I find the downtimes and deliverability issues daunting. I chose Mailgun for its dashboard, ease of implementation, and the support team, which offers very quick response times. I switched to Mailgun mainly because of pricing. I had to switch when Maildrill was taken over by MailChimp and the pricing got very high.

Mailgun: A Reliable Partner with a Proactive Approach to Security

I've been using Mailgun for many years and it's been a smooth ride all along! They've been my trusted partner in sending mails across over 6 domains. One day, I received an email from them stating that my account had been compromised. I was initially taken aback, but when I checked my account, everything seemed normal. My mail sending levels were steady with a fantastic 98% delivery rate, no sudden spikes in bounces, and literally % complaints across domains. When I opened a ticket to understand the situation better, they were quick to respond. Although the information provided was a bit vague, I appreciated their proactive approach in ensuring the security of my account. It was a bit of a challenge, but it gave me an opportunity to explore other options. I decided to migrate all my domains to Amazon SES. Since the move, I've not noticed any compromised activity from any of my domains. This experience with Mailgun has taught me the importance of having a backup plan and exploring other options. It was a bit of a hiccup, but their support was there when I needed it. I would still recommend them for anyone looking for a reliable mail delivery service. Remember, it's always good to have a plan B!

Excellent Support and Simple Setup Guidance.

My account was disabled because the credit card on file was outdated. There was no warning or unpaid invoice. Even after updating the credit card, the service was not restored, despite the message stating that the block would be lifted once a valid credit card was provided. I've been without service for 5 days for no valid reason. As soon as I find a suitable alternative and get developer time, I plan to switch. I've submitted three tickets and have been without email for 9 days. All tickets mention that all invoices are marked as PAID on their system. However, Mailgun's response is that someone disputed charges.

Effortless Setup and Versatile Use - API or SMTP with Mailgun

I use Mailgun for transactional email services and its free tier meets my basic needs. The API is easy to integrate and the SMTP alternative is convenient for software that needs the SMTP protocol to send emails. However, I find the current dashboard a bit complex and sometimes have difficulty finding settings or making adjustments. I switched to Mailgun because my previous service shut down their standalone API and required a paid subscription on MailChimp.

I encountered an issue with the Mailgun API on the launch day of an email sending feature for my web-based project. I reached out to Mailgun Support and after a few interactions, they helped me resolve the technical problem related to API access. I highly recommend their services and will continue to trust them as a customer. I believe they are ten times better than their competitors because they listen and provide timely solutions.

Steer Clear of Mailgun: The Pinnacle of Poor Product and Support

I had an awful experience with Mailgun. After spending six months integrating with it, they inexplicably disabled my account. Despite my subscription being listed as $0/month, they continued to charge me monthly, costing me over $600 so far. When I reached out to their support, they dismissed my tickets without any response. It's the worst product and support team I've ever encountered. Their email coding is terrible and their deliverability is among the worst in the industry. I strongly advise switching to Sendgrid instead. I initially chose Mailgun for its native CRM integration, but it turned out to be a nightmare. I recommend avoiding them at all costs.

Excellent Customer Service Experience with Mailgun

I recently had an excellent experience with Mailgun's support team, particularly Fernando. We encountered a complex DNS issue at DataDab.com, and Fernando was incredibly helpful. His prompt and clear advice allowed us to easily navigate the technical complexities. I was grateful for the friendly, patient support and the team's rapid responses. A big thanks to Fernando and Mailgun for being fantastic partners in our email journey!

Exceptional Delivery, Streamlined Platform, Achieve Success with MailGun!

I find Mailgun extremely enjoyable to use, with top-notch chat support and prompt email support responses. The user interface is neat and easy to navigate, and the setup is straightforward. The dashboard is clear, enabling me to quickly identify and fix issues. I value the feature that allows me to clean database lists to reduce bounce. The best aspect, however, is their offer of free service for up to 10,000 emails a month, which is quite a lot! This provides me with the full custom power of linking my domain and sending out, which is of great value. I intend to upgrade soon, but this is an amazing way to start a relationship. I've been using their service for nearly a year for free, instead of using my server. I haven't found anything that I dislike about Mailgun. Some people complain about high bounce rates or emails ending up in spam, but I believe these issues are often due to factors beyond Mailgun's control, like the receiving server and the email habits of the recipient.

      Satisfied Mailgun User

I have been using Mailgun for almost four years now and I am very satisfied with its performance. Before, our emails were occasionally rejected because we relayed to our ISP from our own on-premise Linux mail server. However, since we started using Mailgun in 219, our emails have been sent reliably. One feature I appreciate is that Mailgun temporarily disables our domain if a spammer compromises one of our user's email accounts. This has happened three times before and although it's inconvenient as we can't send emails, it prevents us from being blocked by spam blockers. Whenever this happens, Mailgun alerts us and we then identify the compromised account and take corrective measures. Their support team is quick to respond and we usually have our domain back online within 2 to 3 hours.

Transactional Email Solution with a Developer-Friendly Approach

As the CTO of a startup, I use Mailgun for our transactional email needs. It performs well, but I wish the pricing was more flexible. Mailgun was designed by developers for developers, and their excellent documentation and code are self-explanatory, allowing for quick and easy integration. The service is reliable and uses the latest technology. Their customer support is very effective and quickly resolves any issues. However, Mailgun's pricing has become increasingly expensive over time and they don't offer discounts outside of their scheme. This is a disadvantage given the competition in the market. Despite the quality of the service, this issue has led me to consider other options when we needed additional features. I initially chose Mailgun because their documentation seemed comprehensive and user-friendly.

Streamline Your Email Dispatch with Mailgun

I utilize Mailgun for all our transactional emails, managing numerous domains from one account. It offers detailed insights into our email deliveries and provides sufficient information to identify issues when they occur. The setup is straightforward, pricing is clear, and the free tier scales up significantly. It can be used via API or SMTP, based on your needs. However, the support for non-paying plans can be slow and there are no alerts for unexpected problems. I switched to Mailgun from Mandrill due to a change in their policies and an unfavorable cost-benefit ratio.
