Seatable: The Perfect Blend of Spreadsheet and Project Management Tools

I find Seatable to be an excellent tool for project management, suitable for both team and personal use. It feels like a blend of Trello and Spreadsheet, and so far, it's been performing well. I value its ease of use and the useful features it provides. It offers exactly what I need, when I need it, such as changing views, grouping by any column data, and linking to other data. I especially appreciate the integration of custom forms into SeaTable, which comes in handy when I need to input external data into the table without manually sharing it. However, I do find some limitations with SeaTable, like the lack of flexibility in text boxes for lengthy inputs and limited formula options. The sharing options can also be a bit inconvenient, particularly when exporting to Excel or using the Timeline view. Despite these drawbacks, I notice regular updates, indicating that they're constantly striving to enhance the software.

Effortless to Navigate with Immense Potential

My experience with SeaTable has been extremely positive, largely due to the dedicated programmers behind it. We were looking for a GDPR-compliant alternative to AirTable and were thrilled to discover SeaTable. We've observed new features being introduced nearly every week and highly value their responsive approach to feature requests and problems. However, SeaTable's "no-code" or "low-code" capabilities do have their limits. Its real strength is in understanding Python, especially for automation. We primarily switched to SeaTable because of its GDPR compliance.

      SeaTable: A Cost-Effective, Feature-Packed Alternative to Airtable

I had a great experience using SeaTable. It not only met all my needs for my specific use-case, but also impressed me with its well-structured function editor and in-browser JavaScript editor. I found SeaTable's documentation to be impressive. Creating a database table was a breeze. I tested the software as a documentation management tool and it fit the role perfectly. The ability to use Python and JavaScript is amazing and offers endless possibilities. One feature I would appreciate is the ability to copy strings from function columns to my clipboard. I had to concatenate some columns to generate filenames for copies on project members' local machines and copy & paste would have been the easiest way to do this. I chose SeaTable over NocoDB because it offers better pricing and less bloat. I switched from NocoDB to SeaTable because NocoDB was lacking in features and had many bugs.

The Only Non-Code Database for On-Premise Hosting

To me, Seatable is a tool that allows me to become a software developer without any coding knowledge. I can create and constantly enhance my own software solutions to meet my needs, eliminating the need for developer work, lengthy discussions, meetings, or voting. The most important feature for me is the ability to host the database on-premise, giving me full control over my data. I can customize the security settings and ensure all backups meet my standards. Despite being relatively new to the market, the software regularly incorporates user requests for new features in monthly updates, improving day by day. I chose SeaTable because of the importance of having German contact persons and support, and the ability to host the software myself.

SeaTable: A Versatile, Customizable AirTable Alternative

Overall, my experience with SeaTable has been positive, although it does have a steep learning curve. I hope the developers continue to improve this tool to make it more user-friendly and versatile as a database. I value the ability to deploy the software outside of the cloud to avoid some API limitations common with cloud services. The customization feature is a definite plus. However, the API lacks key features needed to use it as a database for a low code application. I chose SeaTable for its superior user experience and fewer bugs. I switched from Airtable due to its automation limitations and high per-user fees.

Seatable - The Perfect Blend of Power and Versatility

Seatable is like a smart spreadsheet that also works as a database and form creator, among other things. Its advantage over similar solutions is its resemblance to Excel, making content and user transfer easy. It offers fun with linked formulas between bases, conditional views, and content sharing. However, I believe its user interface, especially the landing page, could be improved.

      Exploring SeaTable: A Personal Journey

SeaTable, based in the EU, makes GDPR compliance easier. Despite being under active development, it already boasts a nearly complete feature set. However, it doesn't permit sharing individual views on a free SaaS plan. I opted for SeaTable as my past experience with ONLYOFFICE was unsatisfactory due to regular sync issues.

Manage Your Tasks Efficiently with SeaTable

I've tried various task and project management tools like monday.com, wrike, openproject, and todoist, and even thought about creating my own system. However, I found them inflexible and restrictive. SeaTable, however, provides total freedom in its usage. I can easily add a new row for any information I need. I use SeaTable as a comprehensive project and task management tool. All tasks are managed within it, keeping my team updated on when, where, and what to do. We use SeaTable's comment function for task coordination instead of sending emails. We also use SeaTable for less critical tasks like vacation management, brainstorming, inventory management, and other tasks we'd typically use an Excel sheet for. I prefer using a self-hosted SeaTable server.

SeaTable: A Strong Rival to Airtable

I appreciate SeaTable for making relational databases user-friendly. It's a great alternative to Airtable and I think it will get better as it grows. However, like Airtable, SeaTable has difficulties improving graphical features and data querying.
