Stripe's Limitations: A Challenge to Navigate
The software feels outdated, like it's from the 1990s. It's great that it doesn't require a landline, but it's missing some key features, such as processing credit card payments in the field or in-store without internet. I like that I can accept payments through my ecommerce website, but I can't add a custom note to my customers and it requires too much information to process a credit card, like the billing address, which is quite inconvenient. I wish it had a credit card swipe feature to avoid having to input so much information. I've contacted customer service about this, but they've never followed up. I chose Stripe Billing over Shopify because Shopify is expensive and charges per transaction as well as a percentage of the sale. I switched to Stripe Billing because I needed an all-in-one ecommerce and point of sale solution, rather than separate services for each.

Experiencing a Nightmare Through Stripe
Update: The response email from Stripe directed me back to the same Support Team that hasn't been helpful so far. The email address they provided doesn't work. If I could, I would give this review negative stars. Dealing with Stripe Support via email has been a nightmare. I have repeatedly requested a call back because after 18 months of having an account, support suddenly needs to verify that the non-profit association is legitimate. I have submitted the required paperwork multiple times, but support keeps sending the same template response asking for the same documents again. I was informed that Stripe is not equipped to contact anyone by phone. Stripe has stopped depositing funds into the account and is holding the funds until the account can be verified. They were more than happy to process over 1k last year for this association, but now that money is coming in quickly this year, they are holding it. This is extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

Still Unable to Refund Customers After 5 Weeks!
For five weeks, I was unable to issue refunds to customers who paid via SEPA direct debit. I had been in contact with Stripe support for four weeks, but they were unable to resolve this significant issue with my account. This problem caused significant damage to my company, as many customers were waiting for their refunds. Despite Stripe support repeatedly assuring me that the issue was being addressed urgently, it remained unresolved. I was disappointed that such a simple function like issuing a refund could not be executed. I was considering legal action due to the damage caused by customers cancelling their memberships and leaving negative reviews because I couldn't refund them. However, after five weeks, the problem was finally fixed. Although I believe it took too long, I am relieved that I can now issue refunds.

I am extremely satisfied with Stripe. It's excellent for both startups and established businesses. I value its straightforward use and integration with my point of sale system. In the past, I had to pay for a software that could manage one-time payments and automatic recurring subscriptions, but Stripe surpasses them. I primarily work from my computer and find Stripe easy to use. If I forget how to execute a function, I can easily find assistance from their support forums or chat. The only downside is that it doesn't alert me if a payment fails, but I've rectified this by using Zapier to receive email notifications. I once had a chargeback and wished there was an option to upload multiple documents for disputes, not just one. However, my contract resolved this issue. I selected Stripe Billing for its superior features and cost-effectiveness. Although Zoho has recently introduced some features I would use, I am trying to keep my overhead as low as possible.

Security Concerns
I find Stripe's service extremely user-friendly from a seller's perspective, almost too much so. The two-factor authentication doesn't function properly and there's no way to enforce the use of MFA on other users. In my opinion, it's the least secure 'banking' site available. By default, users remain logged in for a week, which is concerning given that payments can be made with just a click. I recently logged in after several weeks and wasn't prompted for MFA.
