As a user, I appreciate how Agile tracking and standup meetings in software development are being effectively utilized in various industries beyond software. I also understand the significance of external contract and financial milestones that require traditional project management. I've been looking for a solution that can manage both agile and financially compliant planning, and I've found that ProjectPlace is one of the few that does both well. It's a SaaS, so there's no need for server setup. It has powerful boards like Trello and supports Kanban or Scrum for team tracking and sprints. I value its ability to use Gantt and relate activities to hard external milestones. Although it requires some training as it manages everyone, a sample training set of projects would be beneficial. Overall, I consider ProjectPlace to be exceptional.

Decent Software, Could Benefit from Minor Adjustments
I appreciate the easy-to-read design and simple webpage layout of Planview-Projectplace, as well as its user-friendly settings page. However, I find it inconvenient to manually add my activities every week, despite the option to copy them from the previous week. I wish there was a default setup for my regular activities. Additionally, I need to remember to save my work before switching weeks, otherwise I risk losing all my recent progress.

I enjoy using Planview-Projectplace because it offers a great platform for collaboration on projects and ideas with my manager. I find the layout user-friendly and appreciate the interaction between its different components. I especially like that everything is consolidated in one place, removing the need to switch between applications. However, I wish there was a feature in the time tracking section that would automatically load a set template each week, instead of having to manually load the previous week's template.

The software is user-friendly and its summary page provides a complete view of pending activities, aiding in task prioritization. The color-coded labels further simplify understanding. It also allows each team member to update progress or explain delays, and activate notifications for team-wide updates. While it's great for continuous monitoring and documentation, it seems more suited for interactive or waterfall-type project management, suggesting other methodologies might be better for certain agile projects. We switched to Planview ProjectPlace because it doesn't require its own infrastructure and its mobile app keeps the team connected at all times.

However, transitioning from Microsoft Project, I find myself missing some of its more advanced features. Managing multiple projects can be difficult as there's no method to link them within Projectplace. For instance, I would prefer if workspaces could contribute to a global roadmap. I also wish documents could reference our existing Sharepoint libraries instead of being stored on Projectplace or OneDrive.

As a member of the marketing team, I utilized Projectplace at Planview to organize and manage our integrated marketing programs. We had shared and limited content and design resources, and we also used it to collaborate with other teams, such as sales for sales enablement programs. Previously, we used SharePoint for design and web requests, but it often felt like a black hole. With Projectplace, I was able to monitor the status of a deliverable at any time, and so could my manager and other team members. The tool facilitated real-time collaboration with features like comments, @ mentions, document management, timelines, etc. It helped cut down on meetings as we could collaborate within the tool, and it offered visibility across teams and individuals. This was key in identifying potential delays early and reducing the number of late projects. The document management feature was superb, and the built-in Kanban board functionality was simple and customizable.
