Cons from reviewers

  • Bandwidth demands for online collaboration: Mural can be demanding in terms of bandwidth, which can pose a challenge for online collaboration, especially for users with limited bandwidth

      Essential for Remote Teams!

I've had a great experience hosting multi-day design sessions and Sprints using Mural. It's perfect for facilitating remote meetings and ensuring equal participation globally. The most challenging aspect is user management. Unlike Slack, Mural doesn't automatically reactivate deactivated users to prevent unnecessary billing. An admin has to manually reactivate them, causing a slight administrative delay, but this doesn't affect the actual functionality of the collaboration tools.

      Like Miro's Lesser-Known Sibling

I feel like Mural is the less popular, rejected sibling of Miro that no one wants to use. However, due to some company contracts, I'm obligated to use this software, which I find extremely unsatisfactory.

Experiencing Mural: A Game-Changer Tool with Excellent Customer Service

I've found Mural to be an incredibly useful tool! Their software has been a game-changer for me. I had a few queries about my billing and decided to reach out to their customer service. It took a bit of time for them to respond, but when they did, they were able to clarify my concerns. Although they couldn't process a refund due to their policy, they provided me with all the necessary information and evidence regarding my cancellation. I was genuinely surprised by their commitment to transparency. It's refreshing to see a company that values its customers so much!

Mural: The Corporate Miro with a Lackluster Edge

Mural is primarily for online collaboration and it delivers on its promise. However, I find it less inspiring than Miro. The templates and fonts are not appealing and it requires more effort than necessary to adjust everything to my preference. I really miss using Miro. Mural has everything Miro has, but in a lesser form. It's like comparing Powerpoint to Keynote. Powerpoint gets the job done, but if you want more control or advanced features, you'd prefer Keynote. As a designer, I miss that in Mural. However, Mural does allow for more administrative control, similar to how Powerpoint can limit you to using company templates. The switch to Mural was a company-wide decision.

Superb Planning Resource, Yet Slightly Complex for Online Teamwork

In my experience, our sessions with Mural have been extremely productive, even providing insights we hadn't previously considered, which has greatly improved our performance. I value the wide range of templates and guides available for immediate use. Onboarding a team is also simple due to the self-explanatory guides. However, the app can be demanding for online collaboration, especially with limited bandwidth. We transitioned to Mural because we required a visual collaboration tool that provided a variety of options and templates to cater to diverse needs within the same app.

      Excellent for Virtual Collaboration

I use Mural for tasks such as building roadmaps, conducting workshops, and ideation. I value its features like the ability to create workshops from templates, voting, building roadmaps, and collaborating with multiple people at the same time. It significantly enhances remote collaboration. However, I believe the linking feature could be better, as it's not clear when items are linked, only displaying a small link icon at the bottom of the card. I switched to Mural because I tried it and preferred it.

Excellent Software for Conducting Online Workshops

I've been using the Mural platform for over a year now, and even more so since the Covid-19 outbreak. It's one of the best tools for conducting online workshops. However, it tends to slow down when more than 1 participants are adding their post-its.

      Outstanding Tool for Teamwork

I find Mural to be an excellent app for collaboration. I've used it with several teams and it's been well-received. Personally, I believe it's the best multi-person brainstorming app I've encountered. I use it for both internal brainstorms and with clients. The support is also commendable. I highly recommend giving it a try.

      Great software, highly recommended.

I'm not sure why there are negative opinions about Mural. I personally love this tool and their customer support is fantastic. We used it for a business start-up project collaboratively and it was very helpful in organizing our flow chart and business processes, which we then incorporated into our investor presentation. I highly recommend it.

      Unparalleled in Productivity and Versatility

Mural is a software that I find incredibly useful for daily use, personal use, and for both small and large work groups. It's excellent for visual organization and planning on a personal level, and for small groups, it's a quick and easy way to turn ideas into visual representations that can be shared with others. I often use Mural as the foundation for projects that I return to repeatedly. It's rewarding to collaborate with colleagues using Mural, especially since many apps we use daily are designed for single users. In workshops, Mural proves to be a powerful tool when used by a facilitator who can guide a group through experiential learning and discussions, leading to emergent thinking and non-intuitive insights. Over the years, I've become proficient at using Mural as a visual note-taker, capturing meetings in a visually engaging way. In my opinion, Mural is the most versatile visual communication tool available today. What I love most is that I can use the tool every day and it's easy enough for most people to use.

Transitioning to Mural: A Refreshing Change in User Experience

My team recently made the switch from Miro to Mural, and I am genuinely thrilled with the unique user experience and impressive usability that Mural offers. Everything seems to have a purpose and a place, which adds a layer of depth to our work. I had some experience with Mural a few years back and it's exciting to see how they've maintained their standards. It's a refreshing change and I'm eager to explore more of what Mural has to offer!

Poor Refund Policy and Missing Basic Features Review

I had a terrible experience with Mural's refund policy. Once you pay, there's no going back. They refuse to issue refunds, even if you haven't used their system. I made the mistake of paying for a year, only to discover that their features are severely lacking. I requested a refund five days later, but after three weeks of deliberation, they simply said, Sorry, our policy is not to issue refunds. Considering that you can return a car after using it, I find it unreasonable that they won't refund for their subpar online service. Additionally, their platform is extremely limited in terms of shapes and diagramming features, rendering it almost useless. Apart from sticky notes, there's not much you can do with it. In conclusion, there are at least two other services that are far superior to Mural. I strongly advise against wasting your time with mural.co. You'll thank me later!

Ideal Platform for Digital Design Collaboration!

As a designer, I find Mural to be a game changer, particularly now that our agency is working remotely. We were missing our design work sessions, where we would be locked in a room, sketching and organizing projects on a whiteboard. Mural has enabled us to do this digitally, which has been a huge relief. When a designer needs my review, we set up a mural where I can sketch over their designs, leave post-it notes, or plug in images for inspiration. However, I wish there was an option to expand the artboards or even have multiple artboards. There are times when we have large projects that last for months and we run out of space. I would love for this to be more flexible. I switched to Mural because our previous tool didn't provide enough guaranteed privacy and security.

Boosting Collaboration in Projects with Mural

I use Mural to analyze information, creating affinity maps, user profiles, and user flows. It's an excellent resource and crucial for my work, enabling effective collaboration with others. My favorite feature is its ability to facilitate the steady growth of an idea or concept over time, with contributions made offline and maintained through review sessions. However, I've occasionally had to refresh the website due to issues when dragging items around with the mouse, especially after long periods of use. I switched to Mural because it aids in analyzing my studies. Now that Figma has improved, I believe my work will become more efficient and less time-consuming.
