Both tools have some form of video calling, you can add guests to your workspaces in both, and they’re similarly priced.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend Microsoft Teams for school use, but I find it to be one of the best tools for business purposes due to its integration with numerous Microsoft tools. I find it easy to use and appreciate its multitude of features such as organizing meetings, high-quality video and screen sharing, superior screen control compared to competitors, and the ability to record videos and store them on the cloud. I also value its ability to upload and share files on specific channels, and its aid in organizing business and school operations. I like that it can integrate whiteboard, forms, and has an inbuilt document viewer. However, I do encounter downsides such as daily glitches and random call cuts. I find the roles are limited to presenters and attendees, either giving a person all the power for the meeting or none at all. I would prefer more specific permissions for participants. I switched to Microsoft Teams because my school did, and we now have classes here. Despite its glitches and being more taxing on my computer, I still find it useful.

Untrustworthy.
I believe Microsoft Teams is the worst chat/video call application I've ever used. It's even worse than Skype. Messages often don't send for hours and arrive in the wrong order. Video calls frequently crash without reason. Some messages only appear on the browser application, not on the web app, and the two don't sync, even though I'm using the same account. I'd recommend using Google Meet, Zoom, or Slack instead.

I had a terrible experience with Microsoft Teams as it couldn't access my camera during a crucial virtual meeting. I later discovered that this was due to my webcam app being open simultaneously, which is never a problem with Zoom. Teams should have indicated that the camera was in use by another application, allowing me to fix the issue before or during the meeting.

I had an interesting experience with the Microsoft Teams support team. They were prompt in addressing my issue, even marking it as resolved within a few days. I was impressed by their efficiency, although I must admit, I missed their emails initially as I wasn't checking my Outlook. When I finally got around to replying, I discovered a unique feature of their system - it doesn't allow sending messages outside of my organization. This is a great security measure, especially since I use a Microsoft school account. I had a bit of a hiccup where I lost some important photos that weren't backed up, along with six months' worth of messages. But this incident taught me the importance of regular backups. It's a lesson well learned and I appreciate Microsoft Teams for indirectly leading me to it. Overall, it's been a learning curve and I'm excited to continue using this software!

Teams has completely transformed how we communicate in our business. We've moved away from traditional email exchanges and now use Teams for instant messaging. We no longer have to attach files to emails, but can share them quickly and easily through Teams, significantly improving productivity by enhancing communication and collaboration. Teams is a user-friendly app that lets us message each other, share files and documents, and even hold audio/calling conferences. This is especially helpful for remote meetings or when we're out of the office. The mobile app lets us chat with colleagues when we're away from our desks. We can also view our departmental teams within the app, message team members, share files, and use other Microsoft-specific apps like Planner or SharePoint. Teams also integrates with our Outlook calendar for meeting scheduling. As administrators, we find it easy to deploy and maintain Teams using GPOs, and the app self-updates on startup. However, Teams does install separately for each user.
