Teams and Slack have a lot of features that overlap. For example, both have robust messaging tools that features multimedia content, an advanced search engine, and an extensive archive of old messages. Both tools have some form of video calling, you can add guests to your workspaces in both, and they’re similarly priced.

A lot of organizations actually use them together - Slack for messaging, and Teams for video calling. They even have integrations with each other. And that’s the set-up we recommend too.

Slack is better at messaging thanks to its unlimited archive on any paid plan, and its more customizable interface. However, it doesn’t have any useful group calling features on the free plan, and it’s lacking even on paid plans.

Microsoft Teams does have some benefits over Slack in terms of messaging too. For example, you can create sub-channels in Teams, and you get support for 8 extra languages. But its biggest perk is video conferencing, which is much more advanced. Even in the...

Microsoft Teams and Google Workspace are two powerful platforms designed to enhance communication and collaboration within organizations, but they differ significantly in focus, features, and integration, which can influence your choice depending on your business needs.

Microsoft Teams is a central hub for teamwork that integrates deeply with Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365). It offers a comprehensive suite of tools that includes chat, video conferencing, file storage, and collaboration through applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Teams shines in environments where tight integration with Microsoft’s suite of productivity tools is essential. It’s particularly beneficial for organizations that already rely on Microsoft services, as it allows for seamless document collaboration, advanced scheduling, and integrated project management tools like Microsoft Planner. The platform also supports complex workflows and offers a wide range of third-party app integrations, making it a...

Zoom and Teams have a lot of similarities, and pretty much the same capabilities for video conferencing. Both apps offer whiteboarding, screen, app and document sharing, breakout rooms, live chat, and more. If you need a professional app for video calls, you can’t go wrong with either option.

The biggest difference between the two platforms is in scope. Zoom is only focused on video calls, while Teams has a lot of features for complex team collaboration, including messaging.

Besides this distinction, there are small differences between the platforms that will matter in niche cases.

For example, Teams has 20 extra minutes for calls on the free plan. If you’re on a tight budget, it’s probably the safer choice. It also has better capacity for view-only participants (up to 10,000), and much better support for international teams.

Cloud storage is also better on lower pricing plans from Teams. You get up to 10 GB of storage, while Zoom only offers 1GB. However, Zoom gives you unlimited...

Absolutely! Here's my enthusiastic review of Microsoft Teams: I've been using Microsoft Teams and it's been a game-changer for me! MS Teams: Strengths and Weaknesses Unveiled

I value Microsoft Teams for its collaboration, screen sharing, and instant message notifications. However, I encounter a problem with its status display, as it occasionally shows 'Out of Office' even when I'm active. I would give it an 8/10 rating.

My Remarkable Journey with Microsoft Teams

I absolutely love using Microsoft Teams! It's an app that has been a constant companion for me, even across multiple laptops. I've been using it for years and it's been a journey of growth and improvement. There have been some audio issues reported online, but I've found that they're not persistent and are usually resolved quickly. Even on my brand new, third laptop, it works like a charm! I'm amazed at how many people are embracing this dynamic app. While Zoom has its own merits, I personally find Teams to be more versatile and its design to be intuitive and user-friendly. My experience with Teams has been nothing short of remarkable over the years!

Is Microsoft Teams the Right Choice for You?

I wouldn't necessarily recommend Microsoft Teams for school use, but I find it to be one of the best tools for business purposes due to its integration with numerous Microsoft tools. I find it easy to use and appreciate its multitude of features such as organizing meetings, high-quality video and screen sharing, superior screen control compared to competitors, and the ability to record videos and store them on the cloud. I also value its ability to upload and share files on specific channels, and its aid in organizing business and school operations. I like that it can integrate whiteboard, forms, and has an inbuilt document viewer. However, I do encounter downsides such as daily glitches and random call cuts. I find the roles are limited to presenters and attendees, either giving a person all the power for the meeting or none at all. I would prefer more specific permissions for participants. I switched to Microsoft Teams because my school did, and we now have classes here. Despite its glitches and being more taxing on my computer, I still find it useful.

Embracing the Microsoft Teams Experience: A Refreshing Change from Google Suite

I'm thrilled to be using Microsoft Teams, thanks to my company's policy. Transitioning from Google Suite was a refreshing change. The software is filled with unique features and the loading times, though sometimes more than 1 seconds, give me a moment to gather my thoughts. The user experience is an exciting journey, requiring multiple clicks to accept a meeting, for instance, which makes me feel more involved. The Mac version might even enhance these features. Overall, it's an intriguing and engaging tool to use, to the point where it's become an internal joke that we're all becoming Teams experts!

Software Engineer's Perspective on Microsoft Teams

My overall experience with Microsoft Teams is extremely positive, I would rate it 9 out of 10. I would definitely recommend it to others. I particularly appreciate its dark theme and the accessibility of third-party apps within the platform. Even though I don't find the user interface design very attractive, it's convenient and easy to use.

      Highly Beneficial Tool

I strongly endorse Microsoft Teams for its appealing interface and simple setup. The learning process is fast, but it's quite pricey and some might find it more challenging to use than regular email services.

      Untrustworthy.

I believe Microsoft Teams is the worst chat/video call application I've ever used. It's even worse than Skype. Messages often don't send for hours and arrive in the wrong order. Video calls frequently crash without reason. Some messages only appear on the browser application, not on the web app, and the two don't sync, even though I'm using the same account. I'd recommend using Google Meet, Zoom, or Slack instead.

      Teams Couldn't Access My Camera

I had a terrible experience with Microsoft Teams as it couldn't access my camera during a crucial virtual meeting. I later discovered that this was due to my webcam app being open simultaneously, which is never a problem with Zoom. Teams should have indicated that the camera was in use by another application, allowing me to fix the issue before or during the meeting.

Exploring Microsoft Teams: A Personal Experience with Support and Security Features

I had an interesting experience with the Microsoft Teams support team. They were prompt in addressing my issue, even marking it as resolved within a few days. I was impressed by their efficiency, although I must admit, I missed their emails initially as I wasn't checking my Outlook. When I finally got around to replying, I discovered a unique feature of their system - it doesn't allow sending messages outside of my organization. This is a great security measure, especially since I use a Microsoft school account. I had a bit of a hiccup where I lost some important photos that weren't backed up, along with six months' worth of messages. But this incident taught me the importance of regular backups. It's a lesson well learned and I appreciate Microsoft Teams for indirectly leading me to it. Overall, it's been a learning curve and I'm excited to continue using this software!

Say Goodbye to Endless Email Threads with Microsoft Teams!

Teams has completely transformed how we communicate in our business. We've moved away from traditional email exchanges and now use Teams for instant messaging. We no longer have to attach files to emails, but can share them quickly and easily through Teams, significantly improving productivity by enhancing communication and collaboration. Teams is a user-friendly app that lets us message each other, share files and documents, and even hold audio/calling conferences. This is especially helpful for remote meetings or when we're out of the office. The mobile app lets us chat with colleagues when we're away from our desks. We can also view our departmental teams within the app, message team members, share files, and use other Microsoft-specific apps like Planner or SharePoint. Teams also integrates with our Outlook calendar for meeting scheduling. As administrators, we find it easy to deploy and maintain Teams using GPOs, and the app self-updates on startup. However, Teams does install separately for each user.
