      Melio is incredibly easy for me to set up and use. The integration process is quick, simple, and reliable. I can enter bills in QBO and have them in Melio, and if necessary, set up payments so all my client has to do is approve them. This has been a game changer for managing payables and forecasting cash flow, especially for my international clients. However, Melio lacks a few features. It should require a W9 for certain vendors before allowing payment and it's frustrating that it doesn't accept pre-payments or retainers. Some of my clients need this feature and others have had payment failures because they misunderstood the question and answered incorrectly. Overall, the accounts payable side is stronger than the accounts receivable side. I chose Melio because it offers a faster setup, a better interface, and I had a very bad experience with Bill.com previously. I switched to Melio because it's faster, online, and provides full details of the transactions. It also allows approval.

      Melio integrates seamlessly with QBO, enabling me to quickly and easily set up vendor bills/payments with a straightforward approval workflow. My vendors can choose their payment method (paper check or direct deposit), and I have the flexibility to decide how to pay them (bank account or credit card). The best part is that paying with a bank account is free! However, I've noticed that my vendor addresses from QBO don't transfer to Melio, so I have to manually enter the vendor address in Melio the first time I pay them. It's a minor inconvenience that I hope Melio will fix soon. Their customer support, however, is excellent. I chose Melio over Bill.com because the latter is much more expensive. We switched to Melio as we were seeking a cost-effective way to pay vendors without the need to print paper checks in the office.

      At this point in my review of Melio Payments, I can honestly say it's worth giving a try, especially considering it's free. It's an excellent financial solution for freelancers, accountants, and small businesses. The latter can automate their bills or payments and manage all their clients from one platform. It's a very clean, straightforward, yet effective tool for paying bills and invoices. The payment processing is much simpler compared to its competitors, making it significantly more efficient. The seamless integration of this product with our accounting software is why we chose it. It also removes the hassle of printing and mailing paper checks. Changes in the payment method chosen by the recipient are seamless. I would like to see improved phone customer service, but I have no other suggestions at this time. Vendors are added with their Melio links, and those vendors already in QuickBooks should automatically connect. Currently, when you do this, a new vendor is created and is not linked to the one that already exists in QuickBooks.

      No Longer Beneficial to My Clients or Business

      I am extremely dissatisfied with Melio. I no longer find this payment service appealing and it's not the ideal platform for most of my clients. I am actively working to remove those who do use it. Melio consistently declines all expedited payments, regardless of the amount. Payments that were previously allowed to be expedited are now being declined, causing problems for my clients and resulting in late payments. I am currently removing the remaining clients from this platform and encouraging them to use other AP platforms or their banks. So far, I've removed 13 clients and need to remove 4 more to finally be done with this nightmare. Melio responded to my feedback, apologizing for my experience and offering to investigate the declined payments. They also mentioned that they would welcome me back if I ever decide to use Melio again.
