Exceptional Wiki Solution for Mid-Sized Businesses
I switched to using xWiki after being disappointed by other open source wikis. The ability to insert Markdown posts, link to LDAP, and have fine-grained ACL were some of the main reasons for my switch. I particularly appreciate the Nested spaces feature introduced in version 7.3 and have since upgraded to all major release upgrades. The setup phase was quite lengthy, taking a couple of months to fully understand all the Catalina / Tomcat performance options and to ensure a smoothly running instance. However, overall, I am very satisfied. The support on IRC is casual and very responsive, I never have to wait too long for a response.

I find XWiki to be an extremely powerful tool that is easy to use right off the bat. It's highly adaptable, though it does demand a fair amount of programming or scripting knowledge to fully exploit its potential. The default setup works well for many small businesses. The permission controls are remarkably flexible and secure, allowing for public, private, individual, or group permissions for all content at a very granular level. The XWiki.com SAS model for hosting and support pairs perfectly with the open source software. The service is fast, and the support staff have always been very knowledgeable.

This software, xwiki, is user-friendly and has a nice interface. It makes document management and organization easier. The mailing list feature allows for communication with both internal and external company members. We use dedicated spaces for specific topic discussions. This tool enhances communication and collaboration among employees. Our aim is to boost employee communication and promote information sharing. Now, each employee's knowledge is neatly organized by subject. Anyone with a question can use the tool to find an answer, saving a lot of time. I highly recommend this tool.

The deployment was facilitated by the pre-built docker images and I discovered tools online for migration from other platforms. However, text editing wasn't as smooth as on other platforms. I have been extremely satisfied with XWiki for several years. The hosted solution has proven to be flexible, reliable, and cost-effective for our group's knowledge and document management needs. A crucial feature for us has been the ability to combine unstructured and structured data, with quick access to structured data through LIVETABLES. We've been able to filter and sort hundreds and thousands of records without any delays. The security features have enabled us to create wikis for different parts of the group and properly control access levels. The platform is user-friendly enough for those with some amateur coding skills, but the XWiki team has always been there to support and refine our attempts professionally. Recently, we hired XWiki to develop a custom Document Management system using the Collaboration Suite. We are very pleased with the results and the project was delivered on time and within budget. Over the course of our usage, the cost has been much more affordable than purchasing other document management systems, and we now have a system that meets our needs.
