Banned After Switching Mobile Phones
I switched my SIM from one phone to another and my account was banned, despite not violating any policies. I appealed several times through the app but received no response and the ban remained. Even after getting a new number from my mobile operator, my account was still banned. I was disappointed with the poor service from WhatsApp. I understand that as a free service, I can't expect much support. However, I believe it's wrong for the company to claim they offer support for free users when they don't. I think such companies should be held accountable for their misleading practices. Update: I eventually found a customer support email and sent them an explanation of my issue. WhatsApp responded two days later, removed the ban, and I was able to register my number and use the app normally again. I've updated my rating to 3 stars because I believe they should make their customer support email more accessible, instead of making me search for it for hours.

I received an unexpected call from Iran through WhatsApp, which was quite surprising as I don't personally know anyone from there. I promptly reported this to WhatsApp and their response was swift. I appreciate their efforts to maintain a secure platform. Nowadays, I find myself using WhatsApp even when it's not the only way to contact a company, which has happened more than a couple of times. I've found it to be a reliable and convenient communication tool. I've even considered deleting my other accounts, as I did before, because I find myself trusting and relying on WhatsApp more and more.

It also lacks many useful features found in other apps, such as broadcasting, creating polls, and auto-deleting files. I chose WhatsApp mainly because its large user base makes communication easier without requiring others to download or learn to use any other software. This provides a level of convenience for most people, despite its downsides. I switched to WhatsApp because its popularity increases the chance of finding the people I need to communicate with without asking them to download and learn any other communication software.

However, there's no option to sign out of WhatsApp on an iPhone or iPad, and while you can hide your last active status, you can't display a timestamp.
