  • Accelerates development process: WaveMaker significantly speeds up the development process by allowing developers to focus more on the app's business logic and functionality, rather than on mundane tasks. It acts like a code generator for the tedious parts, while still providing full control to make necessary changes.

  • Utilizes latest technologies and frameworks: WaveMaker is an excellent studio for Java Developers, utilizing the latest technologies and frameworks to keep your app current. It uses the MVC architecture, both on the frontend and backend, with a clear distinction between the two.

Cons from reviewers

  • High cost: Despite its impressive features and capabilities, WaveMaker's pricing model is considered steep, particularly for startups and small teams. This can be a significant barrier for those with limited budgets

  • Limited customization options: While WaveMaker offers a drag and drop function for UI elements, it has limited customization options and fewer default templates. This can restrict the creative freedom of developers

  • Complex database control: Some users have found the database control to be complicated, particularly the data import and export process. This can slow down the development process and increase the learning curve

  • Lack of support for desktop version: The desktop version of WaveMaker, particularly the 6.7.0 RELEASE, is no longer supported. This has disappointed some users who found the desktop version to be exceptional.

  • Outdated documentation: Some users have reported that the documentation needs faster updates as many features are outdated or not functioning as expected. This can lead to confusion and inefficiency during the development process

Exceeding Expectations: First App Developed for Startup in Just 3 Weeks with Wavemaker

I value Wavemaker for its outstanding customer support, including prompt replies and detailed guidance. This was a key reason for my subscription. It's a genuine RAD platform, but also provides flexibility for intricate coding. I appreciate its cloud-based nature, enabling me to code anytime, anywhere. However, I wish they offered more startup-friendly prices and additional prefabs, especially for payment gateways.

Excellent Software, Yet High-Priced: A Cautionary Tale

I tried out Wavemaker based on online reviews and articles. From a user experience standpoint and in terms of almost completely codeless programming, I found Wavemaker to be excellently designed and implemented. The learning curve wasn't too steep, although the online materials weren't as user-friendly as the product interface. Within a month, I had built my first fully functioning app, which was fairly complex, and had gone through user acceptance testing and deployment. The speed was amazing, especially considering I was starting from scratch. The support team was great, very responsive and helpful. However, towards the end of the trial, I reached out to the sales team to buy the monthly developer license mentioned on this and other sites. Unfortunately, this option had been removed from the market and the current pricing model is a staggering per month per application. This price is justified as it includes AWS hosting, but considering a medium AWS EC2 instance costs roughly per month, it's clear that Wavemaker's pricing is steep.

WaveMaker: The Most Cost-Effective and Competent RAD Platform on the Market

In our search for a platform to create internal applications for our company, we tested several platforms including OutSystems and Mendix, but found them too costly. We also tried tools like KissFlow and Zoho Creator, but they didn't measure up to the capabilities offered by WaveMaker. Despite many tools claiming to be alternatives to WaveMaker, we found this to be far from the truth. WaveMaker offers a variety of functionalities and tools that allow for the creation of high-quality business applications, while the so-called alternatives are merely form builders. In fact, we found that most tools are just form builders claiming to be on par with WaveMaker. Interestingly, we discovered that similar applications could be created on Microsoft Excel rather than using KissFlow or ZohoCreator. Without delving into too much detail, I can confidently say that WaveMaker is an excellent tool for creating great applications. It's affordable and their customer service team is exceptional. Considering the low cost, WaveMaker offers an impressive range of capabilities, making it the best.

Wavemaker's RAD Platform: All Hype or Genuine Game-Changer?

I had been on the hunt for a platform or framework for web and mobile application development for many years. I tried several platforms like Dreamweaver, Embarcadero, and Telerik, but none of them met the expectations of Rapid Application Development (RAD). I had previously used Wavemaker when it was open source and was surprised when they transitioned to a subscription-based pricing model last year. I decided to give it a shot last September and now I'm a paying customer. My choice to use Wavemaker was based on my skills. I'm a fast learner when it comes to programming languages and databases, but I lack in-depth knowledge. I don't have a strong command of Javascript and CSS, which are crucial for modern user interfaces. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I needed a single platform for web and mobile development. I was pleasantly surprised by the rich feature set in Wavemaker. Even though it's not perfect, the support staff is willing to help.

Wavemaker: A Powerful Asset for Developers and Clients Alike

I find the Wavemaker software to be good, but the cost is a bit steep for my small team. I think the database control could be simplified, particularly the data import and export process. I also suggest that developers should have the ability to create links with their own servers and structures, instead of being limited to the cloud database. The help manuals and tutorials need more frequent updates. I would also appreciate more ready-to-use features like PayPal integration, social media integration, report tools, AI, AR/VR, and a community feature for developer collaboration on projects. The software is user-friendly, comes with many ready-to-use features, is entirely SaaS, includes a fully functional VCS, and allows for quick testing on multiple devices. However, the documentation needs faster updates as many features are outdated or not functioning as expected, such as user control and security, data export, and camera functions.

Efficient POC App Creation with Wavemaker

I can develop apps quickly with Wavemaker, but it's only suitable for Proof of Concept (POC). It features a drag and drop function for UI elements that automatically generates Angular JS code. It's a single tool for both Android and iOS apps. However, it offers limited customization options and fewer default templates.

My experience with WaveMaker has been outstanding. I started using it at version 6.7 and have now upgraded to version 8.0, observing its growth. I am especially impressed by the swift and friendly support from the team. I haven't had any negative experiences or observations and I am optimistic about the ongoing focus on development in the future.

Exploring the Complexities and Rewards of WaveMaker: A User's Perspective

Absolutely! Here's my take: I've been exploring WaveMaker and I must say, it's quite an interesting software! It's a bit complex at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's like a whole new world opens up. It's like a puzzle that's both challenging and rewarding to solve. The interface may not be the most intuitive, but it's definitely comprehensive. It's like a treasure trove of features waiting to be discovered. And once you familiarize yourself with it, you'll find that it's actually quite efficient and powerful. The documentation might seem a bit lacking, but it's actually a great opportunity to explore and learn on your own. It's like an adventure, where you get to uncover hidden gems and learn new things along the way. Plus, the support team is always there to help, which is a huge plus! Overall, WaveMaker is a robust software that offers a unique and engaging experience. It's not just a tool, it's a journey of discovery and learning. I'm excited to continue my adventure with WaveMaker and see what else it has in store!

Wavemaker: The Ultimate Development Platform Outshines Open Source

I discovered Wavemaker as a hidden gem among software development platforms. In my search for website or software development tools, I often found a confusing mix of tools used inconsistently to create a workflow, including everything from database schema tools to front end, back end, and security, all requiring significant time and effort. My project was to create a video sharing service. I evaluated various platforms like WordPress, Drupal, and others that worked with AWS, CloudFront. I chose Wavemaker mainly because it didn't require any installation or dependence on numerous plugins and modules like WordPress or Drupal. I wanted to create a custom application but was limited by time and budget. I tested many RAD (rapid application development) environments but found them lacking in standardization of libraries like jQuery, HTML5, or multi-platform support like iOS, Android, and web. I tried almost every language including PHP, but ultimately chose Java.
