Enhancing Urban Forestry with Tree Plotter Inventory
Using the Tree Plotter software has greatly enhanced our ability to efficiently track every tree we plant in neighborhoods across Albuquerque. We've successfully trained neighborhood leaders to use it, enabling quicker and more precise record-keeping of the trees being planted. The software allows us to generate reports on the timing, location, and quantity of trees planted for the city councilors who funded them. It also facilitates communication with our funding partners about our tree planting initiatives and projects. We've recently extended our use of the software to include orcharding and fruit trees, in collaboration with an organization named Food Is Free. The software has been equally beneficial to them in their operations. The fact that it can be used on a tablet or smartphone makes it easily accessible, even for those who are not tech-savvy. However, there were certain tasks we wanted to perform that were not feasible due to the software's layout. These limitations were a letdown, but not a deal-breaker. The vendor responded positively to our feedback, expressing delight in knowing how valuable TreePlotter has been to us.

Tree Plotter Inventory: A Game Changer in Urban Forest Management for Local Government
I appreciate the fast feedback and reporting capabilities of Tree Plotter INVENTORY, which is beneficial for Urban Forest Management. The software has excellent functionality and a variety of reporting tools. I also commend the outstanding IT support. However, I noticed that much of the system is not yet available in metric measurement, although I believe this is being addressed. I also find the CTLA Valuation system challenging to use. I chose Tree Plotter INVENTORY over other products because it offers better functionality and backup support. The vendor responded to my review, acknowledging that while some components of TreePlotter cannot currently handle the metric system, most of the app is customizable and can meet the needs of international clients. They encouraged me to continue reaching out with any questions.

Tree Plotter Flourishing in Bennington's Urban Forestry
I primarily use Tree Plotter to create and update our city's constantly changing tree inventory, as well as to assess risk in our parks and arboretums. I value its portability and its assistance in planning for future plantings and tree growth. Despite using Tree Plotter for less than a year, it has become one of my most essential tools as an arborist. We've managed to create an inventory of the city's trees, identify species, evaluate tree health and condition, and pinpoint all the Ash trees. We've also compiled a list of trees we aim to treat or remove, assessed potential public risk, created work orders, and kept a maintenance record for future city employees. I particularly enjoy the program's mapping feature. I can go anywhere in the city, pull up the tree on my laptop, and view our notes, assess any trimming needs, and even see the year the tree was planted. I greatly appreciate the portability of this tool.

I find the tree-plotter-inventory tool useful for tracking planted trees, maintenance, tree orders, and deliveries. However, I have a major issue with its slow performance. Despite its capabilities meeting our needs, I find it extremely slow and not very intuitive. It also doesn't function well on iOS. After sharing my review, the vendor acknowledged the issues, especially with entering information using their Data Table feature on some Apple products. They requested details about my iPad and where I'm experiencing slowness, promising to use this information to prioritize future improvements and bug fixes.

The user interface of Tree Plotter Inventory is straightforward and easy to grasp. However, I find it annoying that the data input window scrolls and resets each time I enter a data field. I also wish I could zoom to a smaller scale on the Google Earth Map than what the Tree Plotter subscription permits. I typically download the shp files and create my own ArcGIS maps to input my company's title block and necessary labeling. Despite these issues, I continue to use and expand my use of Tree Plotter, regularly providing feedback and suggestions to the Plan It Geo team to enhance the program. I appreciate their collaboration in creating a better shared environment. The software works well on all mobile devices I've used, from tablets and handheld data recorders to phones. The real-time, multi-user environment allows me to monitor my staff in the field and facilitates cooperative work. I use Tree Plotter for comprehensive landscape inventories, contractor work audits, tree surveys, and tree inventories.

The software is entirely customizable and scalable to my needs, enabling me to collect any information I require. It can function as a simple tree inventory database or a comprehensive work management system with additional modules. I can also conduct appraisals or risk assessments depending on my needs and budget. The data can be exported for use in ArcGIS and I can edit some lists myself, such as adding tree species, which accelerates the process of adding new trees to my inventory. However, fully customizing and scaling the software can initially be somewhat complex, as it takes time to understand where different data is located and how to use the filters. Additionally, cellular and Wi-Fi connections or a large database can slow down the data adding process.
