Notion and Slab are both powerful tools designed to facilitate knowledge management and team collaboration, but they cater to different needs, and this distinction can guide your decision on which platform is best suited for your organization.
Notion is an all-in-one workspace that allows you to create, organize, and share content in a highly customizable environment. It’s ideal for teams that need a versatile tool to manage various types of content, from documents and databases to project management boards and wikis. Notion’s strength lies in its flexibility; you can tailor its interface and functionalities to match your workflow, whether you’re building a knowledge base, managing projects, or creating a shared team hub. It offers extensive integration capabilities, making it adaptable to a wide range of use cases.
Slab, on the other hand, is a specialized knowledge management platform with a primary focus on creating and maintaining structured, easy-to-navigate documentation. Slab’s...

Slab: The Ultimate Knowledge Storage Solution for Your Team
I was looking for a reliable platform to store team knowledge that everyone could contribute to and search. After trying out many other platforms, I found Slab to be the most feature-rich and user-friendly. Despite being a small team, their customer service and response time are excellent. The software is easy to use with a simple interface, making it easy to teach my peers and get them contributing quickly. The ability to search Slab, Slack, and Google Drive at the same time is a game-changer. However, its minimalistic interface can make it slightly challenging to visually navigate between different topics and is not exactly aesthetically pleasing.

Superb Tool for Building a Wiki or Corporate Knowledge Base
I selected Slab as the tool to build the knowledge base for my research team and we've been utilizing it since early 2020. It's incredibly beneficial for both academic and business uses. The interface is structured, neat, and stylish, making it simple to compose and arrange articles. A single article can be classified under multiple topics, making it user-friendly for both reading and writing. Individual pages can also be publicly shared, which is an excellent feature. The cost-benefit is good. However, its main disadvantage is the tough competition it faces from other platforms like Notion and Coda.io, which provide more API integrations, features, and support for a broader range of file types.

Stylish, User-Friendly, Lightning Speed, and Exceptional Customer Service!
I was looking for an affordable knowledge management service that was compatible with Korean. I had tried many services before, but encountered problems with search, export, and sharing. Atlassian's product was too complex for my team's needs. We needed a simpler product that was easy to use and worked well with Korean. Slab was the perfect solution for us. It does the basics very well, making it easy to write, find, and share content. I was particularly impressed by the customer support from the Slab team. They were quick to respond to my questions and were very friendly. When I requested a feature, they kept track of it and even sent me a reminder a month later to check out the feature I had requested. I have no affiliation with Slab. I lead a small IT system admin team in Korea, with less than 15 people, and I found Slab while searching for a knowledge management system for my team.

Outshines Confluence: A Superior Choice for Our Team
My team and I have discovered that Slab greatly surpasses Atlassian Confluence in satisfying our needs. We chose to switch to Slab just a few days into our trial because it simply works. It meets our primary needs such as live-updating for collaborative note-taking, user access restrictions, excellent cut-and-paste features, reasonable pricing, and stability. This is a significant upgrade from Confluence, which was constantly malfunctioning. However, I do miss having columns and more advanced layouts, but these are not essential. I also miss the ability to embed PDFs. Currently, Slab only supports image uploads and I hope this changes soon.

Operational yet Requires Additional Capabilities
I find Slab to be a handy tool for sharing information internally, but I've noticed that the updates page doesn't always match up with actual releases and updates aren't frequent. I'm excited to see where the Slab team takes their software. I value its integration with Google Drive, the search feature that highlights context, the ability to embed calendars and other documents, and the guest addition option. However, I struggle to understand what and how to read, and I'm let down by the inability to embed images inline with text, the lack of automatic parsing of email addresses into mailto: links, the absence of a find and replace feature, the fact that ordered lists can't have paragraphs in between without restarting the numbering, the difficulty in linking to a heading when referencing other posts, the lack of a feature to check for dead links, the requirement to use full names when tagging teammates, the outdated screenshots on their website, and the apparent lack of any document version.

Top-tier Collaborative Knowledge Sharing Solution: Slab
With Slab, I no longer face permission issues or admin blocks when accessing files. I can simply invite my colleague to a Slab post and we can start collaborating in real-time. I appreciate the ease of single sign-on and the ability to import existing documentation from Google Drive. However, I suggest improving the integration with Google Drive as the imported documents' structure needs a lot of work to look the way I want. I switched to Slab primarily due to the hassle of permission settings.

Slab: Revolutionizing Documentation Creation and Usage in Our Company
Slab is incredibly user-friendly and has the perfect amount of features to meet all my needs without any unnecessary extras. Setting it up, getting my team onboard, adding new articles, and searching for articles is seamless and uncomplicated. It's simple, easy to use, and our enjoyment of it grows with each use. As a web development firm, Slab is perfect for documenting everything from company policies to detailed technical solutions. It's easy for everyone to create and find documentation. We've tried many different systems for storing documentation, but Slab has proven to be the best. Its integration with Slack makes it even more convenient, eliminating the need to constantly switch between systems. We often answer each other's questions with a Slab article, and if we can't, we create a new Slab article and respond with a link to it. This has helped us expand our documentation and avoid repetition.

Slab's Temporary Downtime: A Minor Hiccup in an Otherwise Smooth Experience
Every time an external party uses our slab, they end up adopting it in their own company. It's a straightforward and tidy way to store team data and works well with most systems. We collaborate with many vendors and slab is the simplest method to give them all the information they need. However, it does need a leader to drive the onboarding process and maintain regular cleanliness. Once the initial challenge of user adoption is overcome, people become dedicated to ensuring the company's information and policies are accurate.

Your Ultimate Company Wiki Solution: Slab!
I compared various apps from the minimalist Nuclino to the complex Confluence, and Slab emerged as the clear winner. I have never regretted this choice. It was incredibly easy to get everyone on board with the app. Sharing articles on Slack is convenient, and the collaboration features leave nothing to be desired. User access is practical, activity updates keep me informed, and the history feature makes it easy to correct human errors. The app is constantly improving with frequent updates, and the team is caring and quick to respond. I appreciate the representative and his team for their work. The ease of use, setup, and management, including domain sign-on, sections, and a familiar editor, are all commendable. The sleek and modern design allows me to focus on what's important. The editing experience is top-notch, similar to Dropbox Paper. I love the growing list of integrations with apps like Airtable, Paper, Asana, Trello, and Slack. The powerful unified cross-platform search.
