      Endless Payments No Escape!

      I am impressed with Motive's technology and solid reporting, including their rear and front facing cameras. However, I had a terrible experience with their customer service. My truck, equipped with a Motive system, was destroyed in a fire on July 20, 2023. I reached out to Motive to cancel my service, but they insisted that I could only do so if I shut down my business and provided a letter from the FMCSA. I clarified that I wasn't closing my business, I just wanted to cancel the service. The conversation became frustrating and I was upset that I had to continue paying for a service I wasn't receiving. I am now obligated to pay them over $300 per quarter until March 2025, which I find unreasonable. I initially chose Motive because of their superior technology, but due to their poor customer service, I won't be using them again. They have since responded, asking me to contact their support line to address my concerns.

      Exemplary Customer Service Experience with GoMotive

      I initially started my journey with KeepTrucking but soon found my way to GoMotive. Right from the start, they were absolutely fantastic! Due to some health issues, I had to undergo multiple surgeries and needed to pause my subscription service until I was back on my feet. The Retention Manager I spoke with was incredibly helpful and promptly turned off our automatic renewal service. While I was hoping to suspend the service during my recovery period, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of customer service I received. It was clear that the call center was based in India, and despite the background noise and occasional phone connection issues, they were always eager to assist. Although we couldn't come to an agreement about a possible credit, the conversation ended on a positive note. It's important to note that if you're a small operator and face any issues that affect your ability to work, GoMotive has a system in place to ensure you're not stuck with your subscription until your annual renewal service. I'm looking forward to returning to GoMotive once I've fully recovered. Their commitment to customer service has truly impressed me. I would highly recommend all owner-operators to consider this company. Their dedication to their customers is truly commendable!

      Unpleasant Experience with This Company

      Terrible, I'd give it a 1/10 and wouldn't recommend it. After a steep learning curve, the software itself is decent. However, even with a great product, their customer service is abysmal. They persuaded us to use their ELD service, which we purchased. We later discovered we didn't need it as we were eligible for an exemption. When I tried to cancel, they refused to refund us anything, despite only using the service for a month. The product works, but the customer service is awful. In response, the vendor apologized for the poor experience and explained that their policy only allows for a refund if the customer informs them within the contract's specified timeframe. They tried to compensate me but were limited by their system. They attempted to contact me via phone and email to discuss the issue further. They stressed that their customers are very important to them.

      Decent App for Efficient Tracking

      The app is fairly good for tracking my drive time and hours of service. However, I don't like that there's no way to correct minor driving errors, such as moving my truck across the lot. This either starts my shift time for the day or forces me to restart a 1-hour reset. If the drive time was less than a few minutes and I forgot to enable personal conveyance, there should be a way to correct it so it doesn't negatively affect my hours of service or reset times.

      Great, But With a Catch!

      I find the Motive software satisfactory. It's easy to use, learn, and install. However, I have issues with the pad that I connect to and use the logbook. It disconnects and doesn't always reconnect, which is a nuisance since I use the Agricultural Exemption almost daily during harvest and into the fall. I switched to Motive because their product wouldn't connect to my brand new truck. They suggested I park the truck until they could figure it out. It turned out to be a missing ground wire from the KW factory, but I wasn't going to park a brand new truck for their convenience.
