      Jobvite: Daily Struggles and Disappointments Await

      Having used various ATS' over the past 2 years, I find Jobvite extremely disappointing. A few reasons include its requisition-centric nature, which means every time a candidate applies, a new file is created and notes from previous conversations don't carry over. It's also impossible to effectively sort by a person's current job title and the Boolean search tool is poor. The system doesn't allow for the elimination of duplicates from search results and is generally slow. The reporting tools are inadequate and customer service often fails to resolve issues despite making promises. Parsing multiple resumes with Hire is impossible and it's the most expensive, yet least productive system I've used. As a recruiter, I need to find the right people efficiently, but Jobvite hinders this process. I've been on several technical calls and each time, I've been unimpressed with their ability to understand or solve the issue. I wouldn't recommend Jobvite to any company that needs to search candidates. It's only suitable for companies that only need to see a resume once. If you need to search past applicants, you won't be satisfied.

      As a user of another software, I miss the excellent features and flexibility that Jobvite provides, especially the ability for hiring managers to customize each recruitment process. Jobvite is a comprehensive and multifunctional Applicant Tracking System (ATS) that allows for a personalized candidate process due to its multiple statuses, screening types, and contact options. It feels like a real flow, making it easier to track the candidate journey and monitor sent and received emails. I also appreciate the bulk emailing and status change features, which are not available in the other ATS I use for my current product (Salesforce).However, Jobvite could improve in a few areas. For example, there is no access to knockout form templates and no option to customize basic templates. Also, not all entities/products are selectable when posting a job description. Additionally, when searching for a candidate's name in the top bar, it should default to showing candidates in your own requisition, with the option to see.

Since we started using Jobvite, it has become an invaluable tool for our recruiting team, hiring managers, and employees. Its easy-apply features for candidates and reporting functions for ROI and sourcing hiring data have been particularly useful. The feedback from managers and staff has been positive, and new employees can quickly learn its features and start using it for interviews, candidate evaluations, social sharing, and referrals. We often use Jobvite's robust reporting function for weekly, monthly, and annual reports. However, creating some reports can be challenging and requires assistance from our Jobvite representative or customer service. The Engage feature of Jobvite hasn't been very successful for us, possibly due to a lack of training. We also don't use it very often. Integration is another factor to consider, especially if an organization has a separate system.

But, I'm confident that with their commitment to improvement, these tweaks will be made in no time. As for their customer support, I've had the opportunity to interact with them on a few occasions. Once, I had a pressing need for some information due to legal reasons within a 24-hour timeframe. Although I didn't receive it immediately, their team was consistently responsive and I was able to follow up with them over the course of a few days and weeks. This showed me their dedication to resolving issues, even if it takes a bit longer than expected. Overall, my experience with Jobvite has been more than satisfactory!

      Five years ago, I was a customer referral for Jobvite and I praised their user-friendly system and its ability to engage hiring managers. I valued the feature to share jobs directly to LinkedIn, track candidates effectively, and train someone to use the system in just a day or two. However, things have changed. They've begun acquiring businesses and products that they charge for, but don't function properly. Their account manager and customer success teams rotate every six months, and they've become dishonest with no accountability. They appear more focused on sales than providing a service. Recently, they neglected to inform me that our Account Manager had left and our customer success manager was handling a very sensitive issue. I reached out to him about a problem that had been ongoing for over six weeks, only to find him audibly upset. This experience reinforced my understanding of why employees are leaving Jobvite. Regrettably, I've lost all respect for Jobvite. I used to appreciate its simplicity.

      I absolutely love Jobvite! I first came across it at a previous company and recommended it when I joined Behavior Frontiers. The company owners were impressed and we implemented it. It has greatly streamlined our hiring process and made things easier for our team. I'm so fond of it that we're now considering its on-boarding feature, which I believe will make things easier for our HR team and enhance the candidate experience. Everything is centralized in one place, allowing all team members to access necessary information. Hiring managers are no longer dependent on recruiters. Generating reports is incredibly easy and customer service is consistently excellent. The application process for candidates is simple, as is the hiring process for the team. I do wish there were more report options with graphs and pivot tables that are less confusing when downloaded on Excel. I switched to Jobvite from BambooHR, a system I found outdated and overwhelming.

I believe it offers good value for its cost and is fairly intuitive for basic tasks, although some higher-level admin tasks can be hard to find. I appreciate its fast loading time, the wealth of information it provides, and its reasonable price. The implementation team is excellent and there's plenty of training available. I also appreciate that they are constantly improving the process and seem to take customer feedback seriously. It's somewhat customizable, but building workflows requires back-end help that isn't always quick. I find it challenging to make immediate changes to workflows or approvers, especially in a large organization. I've also found the offer letter templates to be quite finicky in my experience.
