Totango: A Mixed Bag of Pros and Cons
I've been using Totango for several years and I'm not particularly impressed. We use it to monitor our account managers, but it's often frustrating. I do appreciate its ability to categorize users based on their health, its quick automation and user action tracking, and the customer hierarchy it allows, though I wish it was more extensive. However, I'm not happy that they can only have two levels of hierarchy without extensive workarounds. I also dislike that many fields can't be rolled down for some reason. Their focus on slack integration instead of addressing basic feature requests is problematic. My experience with their support hasn't been the best either.

Totango offered us multiple integrated data points to understand the effect of our interactions on our new and existing customers. The platform was easy to set up and initial use was very smooth. The ready-to-use functionality is great, but it needs close collaboration with their tech and onboarding team for integrations and customizations of data views and communication inputs.

Totango offers a comprehensive view of my portfolio health and is user-friendly. It gives a good general understanding of my overall customer health at a glance. However, it's not always accurate and its integrations require many adjustments to work properly. I also need a subscription to a third-party tool like Zapier.

I've been implementing Totango for a while now. My team and I have many customized metrics and needed integration with BigQuery. We've only recently started using it, and I've noticed many positive aspects and useful features, though some are unfortunately missing. However, so far, it's been good value for money. The biggest advantage is certainly the cost. For a small fee, we get many functionalities and useful features like in-app NPS, success plays, and the ability to integrate with many tools. I think it's a great platform to start with to simplify daily customer service tasks. Their support team is also very responsive and helpful. I've had no issues so far and they've been very helpful with the onboarding and implementation process. However, I've noticed that some functionalities are missing. I'm not sure if other platforms have these, but for instance, it's not possible to export some reports/dash.

Somewhat Cumbersome User Experience
The integration process with Totango was long and required many workarounds, taking almost a year to complete. I'm still not fully convinced by the tool and find it difficult to use daily for logging each touchpoint. However, Totango does offer flexibility when integrating with existing solutions like Hubspot, allowing for two-way customer data transfer. It also allows me to set up custom health scores and alerts, and offers a wide range of functionalities for customer engagement. On the downside, the user interface is somewhat clunky, with some features hidden and buttons not intuitively placed. The timeline of interactions is hard to navigate and lacks the ability to pin information or notes like in Hubspot. The "touchpoint" feature is tricky, as a single mis-click can result in an internal note being sent to tagged individuals. Also, I can't save a touchpoint card if I've opened a task within it and haven't saved the task first. The hierarchy between Company and Product is also not intuitive.
