Significantly Streamlined Daily Operations, Continually Evolving and Actively Updated

I think Teachworks is a fantastic platform! It has nearly all the basic features a tutoring organization needs. Its core functions, such as billing and scheduling, are strong, adaptable, and dependable. The site works well on any device and is intuitive. Its features and integrations are growing. However, the absence of custom API integration stops us from building on this platform. We want to use APIs to push/pull client and staff data. Lead generation/management is insufficient and must be handled outside of this platform. There's no social media integration and the ability to send mass SMS to select tutors for client matching while managing responses would be beneficial. A chat bot feature would be amazing! Integration with an e-signing platform like signnow would be helpful as we currently have to manage e-signing contracts separately. The vendor responded to my review, thanked me for the positive feedback, and promised that their API will be available soon. They also said they'll consider my SMS suggestion.

      Life Without Teachworks? Unthinkable!

I consider Teachworks to be a crucial part of our operations. It's highly intuitive, user-friendly, and helps avoid accounting mistakes. It offers a high degree of transparency in billing and payments for both our students and teachers. The best aspect is the time it saves - tasks that used to take two full days now take less than an hour. It automates reminder emails and accelerates payment collection with easy card payments directly from the invoice. The add-ons are excellent and very useful. The support is great and the developers are continually enhancing the features. The only drawback is the lack of direct integrations with other apps and services, but we handle this by using the excel spreadsheet data exports, which we can import into our other business apps as needed. I've been using Teachworks for two years now and can't envision doing it any other way. The features I value the most are its ease of use, lesson cost/wage tracking, email automation, invoice creation, and employee wage statement creation.

Outdated for Modern Clients, Yet Stellar for a Decade Ago

I have been using Teachworks (TW) for seven years now and while there are many aspects I appreciate, I am frustrated by the slow pace of change and improvement. Despite offering to pay for additional support, I have found it impossible to obtain. The software is robust, consistent, well-established, and reliable. I especially like the ability for tutors to invoice from their completed lessons and the ease of pulling reports. However, I have two main issues with TW. The first is the online booking feature for clients, which is difficult to set up, customize, and slow to change. It's not very intuitive for clients, often causing problems and making the process more work than it's worth. The second issue is the lack of in-person help and video tutorials. I believe there should be more videos on their online booking features. A third issue is that while TW claims to sync with QBO, the sync is not always successful.

      Agile and Effective: Teachworks Experience

I am extremely satisfied with Teachworks. It has greatly simplified our transition, which was initially difficult as we had been using the same product for 15 years. I am especially impressed by Teachworks' quick responses to inquiries and their proactive approach in adding features based on my questions. They even reached out to correct a mistake we were making without us asking for help. Although a few features we frequently used on the previous platform are not available, Teachworks has been very helpful overall. We chose Teachworks because it was similar to our previous platform, TP, and came highly recommended, making it an easier transition for everyone. When TP shut down, we switched to Teachworks. I appreciate their gratitude for my review and their continued support.

Nearly a Decade of Satisfaction with Teachworks

My experience with Teachworks has been mostly positive. I did face some issues with the online lesson feature during Covid, which made me switch to FaceTime. However, I don't use that feature much now, so it's not a problem anymore. I can't remember ever needing customer support, which shows how reliable the software is. I have a supportive husband who helps me if necessary. I especially love the calendar and invoicing features. I like being able to schedule lessons for a whole semester and easily adjust them as needed, with automatic notifications sent to parents. Creating, editing, and sending invoice reminders is also simple. When tax season comes, I can easily generate a chart of all my income to send to my CPA. Even though I know other piano teachers who use cheaper software, I'm hesitant to switch because I like Teachworks, don't want to learn a new system, and don't want to lose years of notes. However, I do wish it was less expensive. I chose Teachworks.

Plenty of Features, But Lacks Real-Time Support

In summary, it took me over three months and over $2000 in external support to transition my CRM to Teachworks and learn how to use it. Now that I've grasped it, it's becoming a crucial part of my business. I'm disappointed that the process could have been simplified with an onboarding call, which I would have willingly paid for. Instead, I had to figure it out myself due to the system's lack of intuitiveness. Teachworks offers a lot of functionality and customization based on user needs. It provides options for hourly or bulk package billing and allows clients to schedule with a single click. I had known about Teachworks for years but was hesitant to switch my business over because the platform seemed overwhelming. Now, after three months, it's not as daunting. The onboarding process was long and expensive, primarily because Teachworks doesn't offer live phone support or onboarding training like many tech platforms. I was completely perplexed for three months.

      Falling Short of Expectations

I've been using Teachworks for four years without any problems, but in the last four months, I've been having issues with the full calendar feature that I use regularly. I can't see names or the entire day, and I'm tired of constantly dealing with this problem without any resolution. I used to like the software when it worked correctly, but now it doesn't. Despite my attempts to fix the issue over the past few months, I'm still experiencing the same problems. I've even missed three classes because the calendar can't display times and students correctly. Despite my efforts, they haven't made any attempts to fix the issue. They suggested that I've changed the default calendar view from month to week and gave me instructions on how to change it back, but this doesn't solve the problems I've been having.
