Effective Log Aggregation with Sematext Cloud
I appreciate the simplicity of Sematext's UI and its easy integration with the API supporting common standards like Elasticsearch and Syslogd. However, I think the user management could be better, as team members need to switch to the team sphere even without any configured apps. I also noticed a missing feature - the inability to filter the context view. Despite these issues, I was informed by the vendor in November 2020 about recent improvements to their RBAC and teams features.

Excellence in Logging
I've had a positive overall experience with Sematext Cloud, using it daily without any significant issues. Logs are sent promptly and the search features function well. However, I've faced problems with running out of daily log storage, which can affect production logging. The vendor responded to my feedback, explaining their feature called Daily Volume Limit. This is a limit I can set, at which point Sematext will start rejecting logs to avoid high costs. I can increase this limit to prevent loss of production logs, but this could lead to higher costs. They responded to my feedback in November 2020.

Beyond Just Log Aggregation: Sematext's Comprehensive Solution
I've been using Sematext, a reliable software, for the past 2.5 years without any outages. Their customer support is outstanding, always responding to my queries within a few hours. They are continuously improving their product and expanding their offerings. They even let me test new products and provide feedback, which I think is fantastic. I use Sematext for log aggregation, monitoring and alerting, incident investigation, log retention, and debugging. I appreciate how easy it is to set up alerts on logs and receive notifications on Slack or OpsGenie when events happen. I highly recommend Sematext as a vendor due to its reliability, excellent customer support, and continuous addition of features. The only minor issue I have is with the account setup process, where I have to log in and then "become" the account owner to see my logs. This can be a bit confusing for new users. However, they have responded positively to my feedback and are working on improving this aspect.

Excellent, with a minor hitch for unique setups
I find Sematext Cloud extremely user-friendly for viewing metrics and conducting log analysis with alerting. We utilize it for all our log analysis and error alerting across our clusters operating in six global regions. However, if you have numerous clusters that you wish to keep separate in Sematext for various reasons, but want the same Sematext configuration, you have to manually synchronize them. Currently, it's not feasible to apply the same Sematext configuration to multiple apps. I value the vendor's response to my feedback and their openness to consider how to save multiple configurations or even clone Apps.

I find the setup of Sematext Cloud to be easy and its operations smooth. It provides flexibility and instant sizing, coupled with excellent technical support. They even implemented my feature requests for sematext-agent within hours. I appreciate that they established an EU data center partly based on my request. However, the implementation of business arrangements like custom contracts or plan sizes can be slow, particularly for larger public corporations. This, however, is a non-technical issue.

Consider Switching to Sematext Cloud from Other Logging Aggregations
I recently transitioned from ELK to Sematext Cloud and so far, I'm quite pleased, although I need more time for a complete assessment. Sematext was a delightful surprise as it's very user-friendly and easy to integrate. The web UI is intuitive and the query syntax is simple, even for those without a technical background. Unlike ELK, Sematext is a true cloud service, so I don't have to worry about losing logs. The only drawback I've encountered so far is the slightly high price. I switched to Sematext because ELK was challenging to install and maintain, and its UI and query were difficult to use. In November 2020, I received a response from the vendor suggesting that I contact their team via live chat for any questions about managing pricing and optimizing costs.

I utilized Sematext Cloud to manage my infrastructure and it significantly aided me in comprehending my app's usage pattern. It also assisted me in predicting when the load would be high or low. The process of identifying memory leaks for JVM was simplified when I sought insights about GC and JVM pool. The software provides comprehensive reports and the installation of an agent is swift and simple. The user interface is highly intuitive and the Sematext team offers excellent support. However, there is a deficiency in documentation for older agents and Ubuntu versions below 16. I also encountered an agent crash, the cause of which remains unknown. I primarily chose Sematext Cloud for its JVM monitoring capabilities and the outstanding support I received while setting it up on my production instances. I switched to Sematext Cloud because I desired detailed reports of each metric over a time period, and for JVM monitoring, I couldn't find a better option.
