Got the Job Done, Ended on a Sour Note
My last experience with Powtoon was disappointing, leading me to discourage others from using their product and company. I recommend choosing a different animation software with superior customer service. I had to quickly find a software for a volunteer project I was involved in. I was able to learn Powtoon fairly quickly and produce something beneficial for the organization. The software was easy to grasp and I managed to create a decent animated video over a weekend. However, after not using the software for about 6 months, I missed the cancellation window for the renewal and my credit card was charged. I immediately reached out to the company to explain my situation and ask for a refund, but they not only refused to refund me, they also ignored my following emails. As for the product itself, they included elements that were not part of my plan, which forced me to backtrack and sometimes export my video without upgrading. Many of the elements were too cartoonish for my taste and the export limits were somewhat confusing.

I think Powtoon is excellent. Its diverse templates are a highlight, enabling me to make unique videos every time. However, the cost is quite steep. I also faced some problems with the Arabic language during the free trial, though these might have been fixed by now. I switched to Powtoon as I was still learning animation and was trying out different tools like Vyond and Animaker.

When I initially began using PowToon, I found its features and functionalities somewhat difficult to grasp. However, once I became familiar with it, I was able to produce professional-looking animated videos. PowToon provides a wide range of animated templates and the quality of graphics and characters is commendable. The paid version even includes royalty-free music and objects. On the downside, there's limited room for customization, the downloaded files are large, and the software is somewhat pricey. I switched to PowToon from Lumen5 because the latter didn't meet my needs for creating animated videos.

I find Powtoon to be an excellent software! It has made creating meaningful videos that appeal to young people much easier. We discovered it while searching for new characters for our PowerPoint videos. The software comes fully equipped and ready to use. Although creating any type of animated content still requires time, having all the tools built-in and readily available saves a lot of time and frustration. Since we signed up, creating mini-presentations for young people has become much simpler. My only critique is the lack of ethnic characters, which can be limiting as most of our clients are ethnic and we prefer to use characters that resemble them. We switched to PowToon because it offers more variety, scenes, and characters.

I am not impressed with Powtoon. They promised new content, but in the six months I've used the service, there have been no updates. Although it's possible to layer multiple texts on one slide and customize their placement, they lack content. They claim to have marketing videos, but these are only 10 seconds long and seem random. I no longer use this software. I initially chose Powtoon, but ended up also purchasing Promo, which offers a wider range of videos and music that work much better. Overall, I am very disappointed in Powtoon.
