Exploring the Intriguing and Adventurous World of Loom

I was initially smitten with Loom, and even though they've made some drastic changes to the UI/UX, I find it intriguing. The app adds a unique layer to my work, it takes its time to save, ensuring no data is lost, and I find myself occasionally hitting share instead of delete, which is a fun little quirk. I admire their courage in trying to accommodate a wide range of requests and following innovative design advice. It's not just good anymore, it's an adventure. I'm sticking with it and learning to navigate the complexities, as it offers the same features as other apps but with an added layer of excitement.

Great Potential, Poor Customer Service - Loom's Inconsistent Experience

I found Loom to be frustrating and a waste of time. Despite my attempts to reach customer tech support and avoid subscription cancellation, I received no help. I spent two weeks troubleshooting and waiting, only to encounter more issues. My recording has been uploading for over 12 hours and despite submitting multiple tickets, I've received no response. I initially chose Loom for its promised functionality, but encountered several issues such as missing features and unresponsive customer service. Even after switching browsers, my recording is still uploading. I'm done with Loom and wish others good luck.

Dismal Experience with Loom on Mac

This software could be a fantastic tool, as it has been in the past, but the Mac application is a total disaster and it frustrates me. I downloaded it once and used it, but it cut off the sound halfway through a long video recording without any warning, forcing me to redo it, only for it to cut off again. It was a complete waste of time, so I uninstalled the app. I later tried again with the Mac app, and this time it recorded the video but failed to upload it from my Mac to Loom, which was again a total waste of my time. It might work fine on other platforms, but I would advise against using it with Mac. I would be willing to pay for this tool if they could just make it work properly on Mac.

Biased Against Microsoft Edge? A Review on Loom Software

I feel discriminated against as a Microsoft Edge user by Loom. They have an extension for Edge, but it doesn't record any audio, even when I manually enable microphone access for loom.com and the website I'm trying to record. Loom instructs me to press a button on the right side of the URL bar, a button that doesn't exist in Microsoft Edge. I'm forced to use the Desktop App, which can't record individual tabs. The service itself is just okay.

      Remarkably Unreliable.

I've spent an entire day attempting to record five short videos, with most of my time consumed by trying to get Loom to function properly. It seems to randomly decide whether to record my face with the screen capture. I used Loom for the same task last year without any problems, so I assume a recent update has negatively affected its performance.

A Top Pick for Team Communication!

Overall, I find Loom to be one of our preferred tools for team communication. Its new AI transcription feature is particularly helpful for our foreign team members in understanding video voiceovers. However, as a startup, we are mindful of the pricing model of each tool, so a more startup-friendly pricing option would have been appreciated.

Loom: Unrivaled Originality and Superiority in Video Software

Having initially used the free version of Loom when it first launched, I am now a satisfied paying customer of the professional version. Loom is essential to how we provide support to our clients. I've experimented with every other alternative available, including Bonjoro, Vimeo Record, Dropbox Capture, and desktop software like Snagit and Camtasia, but Loom outshines them all. Recording is straightforward, video uploads are swift, the processing speed is remarkable, and the editing is quicker than anything else I've encountered. It genuinely fulfills its promises. The only minor issue is that occasionally the webcam and sound are slightly out of sync. I switched to Loom because I was seeking a simple, effective tool that wouldn't delay responses and wouldn't demand much from the recipient.

      Major Time Drain with Loom

Loom has become the biggest time-wasting software for work in 223. I was a satisfied user until about 3 months ago when they introduced the new Loom mac app. I'm unsure if this is related to the acquisition by Atlassian, but it simply doesn't function properly. I've been in constant communication with the support and tech team for 2 months, but they've been unable to resolve the issue of my videos not processing on a MacOS and a Mac Display monitor. Using a custom size for 4K doesn't work. Instead of resolving their issues, the support team suggests switching to 144p before each recording, which is extremely inconvenient, and even then, 144p doesn't process correctly. I've wasted hours of recordings, experienced a lot of frustration, and dealt with an ineffective support team that can't fix a bug in a company valued at nearly $1b. It's a fascinating world we live in.

      Letdown Experience with Loom

I experienced a strange loop when logging into Loom, where I would be directed to a webpage indicating success, but the actual installed program wouldn't log me in. This seems to be a Windows issue. However, most of the time, it works fine. Soon, we won't be able to download videos without subscribing to a paid service. There's already a limit on the free tier, which I often reach, providing an incentive to pay, but I won't. I assume the decision to limit free downloads is due to shareholders not generating enough revenue, so I'll be looking for another service.
