Who is Jumpcloud directory platform best for according to our reviewers?

  • Small to Medium Businesses: JumpCloud Directory Platform is suitable for small to medium businesses due to its affordability and ease of use. It allows for straightforward implementation and quick user import from Google Workspace. The platform also offers Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration, device management, and pre-defined policies

  • Remote Workforce Companies: Companies with a majority of their workforce operating remotely can find JumpCloud useful. It addresses remote working issues, removes the need for maintaining on-site servers, and provides secure remote access. The platform also supports cross-platform, including MacOS and Linux workstations

  • Security Focused Organizations: Organizations focused on strengthening their security control can benefit from JumpCloud. It ensures that when a user is suspended, they are truly suspended. The platform also enables management of a broad range of computers, provides a central IDP for LDAP and Radius, and simplifies the process of provisioning computers and users. However, the platform could improve its ability to control apps outside of DEP with Macs and Linux app control.

  • IT Administrators: IT administrators can benefit from JumpCloud's comprehensive Directory-as-a-Service (DaaS) solution. It provides excellent customer support, easy policy implementation, and improved security posture. However, the platform could improve its reporting capabilities

  • IT/Infrastructure Administrators: IT/Infrastructure administrators can find JumpCloud to be an ideal tool. It offers LDAP, IDP, server authentication, MDM, and more. However, the platform could improve its user portal by adding a favorites page for users to highlight their daily applications

Excellent Tool for Diverse Business Infrastructure Management

I value Jumpcloud for its ability to strengthen our security control, ensuring that when we suspend a user, they are truly suspended. I particularly like how it enables us to manage a broad range of computers, provides a central IDP for LDAP and Radius, and simplifies the process of provisioning computers and users. However, I do feel the lack of ability to control apps outside of DEP with Macs, such as Chrome and Google Drive, as well as Linux app control. I selected JumpCloud Directory Platform for its superior computer control and provisioning across Linux, Windows, and Mac. The decision to switch to JumpCloud was also influenced by its more cohesive product offering and cloud-based nature.

JumpCloud: Revolutionizing Business Operations Globally with Unmatched IT Solutions

As an IT/Infrastructure admin, I consider JumpCloud to be an ideal tool. The entire team, from sales to customer success, engineering, and support, is exceptional and promptly assists with any issues or features I'm interested in. JumpCloud is my favorite product so far. It performs everything I could imagine, from LDAP, IDP, server authentication, MDM, and much more. It has resolved numerous issues at Octane, some of which I wasn't even aware needed resolving. The support team and our account manager are simply the best. My only complaint is that with so many bookmarks and SSO connections on the user portal, there's no favorites page for users to highlight their daily applications, making it somewhat difficult to track and find applications. I chose JumpCloud Directory Platform because it provides the best price for all its features.

All I Need, Minus the Hassle of AD

I am extremely satisfied with JumpCloud. I used to use an ActiveDirectory system for my small user base, but found it outdated and cumbersome. JumpCloud, on the other hand, is a lightweight solution that allows me to manage my organization effortlessly. Setting up a user in another state is as simple as a click on the panel. The package installation is quick and easy, and I appreciate that the agent runs as a service with a minimal footprint. Changes made on the web console propagate quickly, and password syncing is efficient. I was impressed with how simple it was to set up RADIUS for wireless, and the agent installation on our machines was straightforward. However, there is no mobile app yet, and I hope this changes in the future. I chose JumpCloud Directory Platform because I am not currently an Azure customer, and Azure does not support Linux. I appreciate the ease of use.

Switch from Your Outdated On-Prem AD Server to Jumpcloud

As a company with a majority of our workforce operating remotely, we found Jumpcloud to be an expert in addressing remote working issues. I've always advocated for a cloud-first approach, and Jumpcloud fits this model perfectly. It removes the need for maintaining on-site servers and figuring out secure remote access, allowing us to focus on more important issues. It's not exactly "Active Directory in the cloud", but it's close. What distinguishes Jumpcloud is its cross-platform support, with excellent support for MacOS and even some for Linux workstations. They offer 10 users free, forever. However, without paid support, adapting to Jumpcloud can be challenging if you're not familiar with Active Directory and Group Policies. After thorough research, I found that neither Ping nor Okta could fully replace an on-site AD server, and Azure AD was much more difficult to use, especially in our mixed environment.

Jumpcloud Platform: A Positive Experience for Our Organization

My experience with Jumpcloud Directory Platform has been extremely positive. I've been impressed with the excellent customer support from the start. The customer success and engineering teams are responsive and value customer feedback, promptly responding to our inquiries and keeping us updated on changes and future plans. Jumpcloud has provided us with a comprehensive DaaS solution that we've been able to scale easily, and we've seen the benefits compared to our previous environment. We can easily implement policies and improve our security posture with Jumpcloud. The SSO integration, included in the standard plan, is a fantastic feature that saves us money and resources by eliminating the need for an additional solution in our tech stack. The ability to manage all users and endpoints through the platform streamlines our Sys admin team's request processing. However, I'm not satisfied with the lack of readily available reporting that can be generated directly from Jumpcloud. The data is there, and we can access it through various extracts, but I wish it was more accessible.

      Satisfied with Our Choice

I believe JumpCloud Directory Platform is excellent! Its features are simple and I've had no issues from users or security engineers. I'm not completely sure of its functions, but maybe that's the intention - it operates without interrupting daily tasks. I opted for JumpCloud Directory Platform because Rippling's MDM capabilities were inadequate, challenging to manage, slowed down all computers, and were hard to enforce its download.

Watch Out Microsoft AD, JumpCloud is on the Rise!

I was hired in my organization to implement a directory platform and streamline our IT practices. Although I had experience with Microsoft Active Directory, my new company wasn't interested in it. I discovered JumpCloud and have found it enjoyable to use in establishing our IT practices and procedures. We are currently focusing on Single Sign-On (SSO), which is proving to be easy to configure. I am looking forward to managing devices with JumpCloud using their pre-defined policies, command runner feature, and PowerShell module. I believe JumpCloud will soon rival Microsoft's admin suite. Setting up SSO integrations is straightforward, whether using a prebuilt configuration or a custom connector. The ability to have SSO, LDAP, Radius, MFA, device authentication, and configuration policies all on the same platform is something I haven't found outside of Microsoft AD and JumpCloud. While remote management and monitoring tools claim to offer these features, JumpCloud has proven to be incredibly simple. I am consistently amazed that my tests work within the platform.

Excellent MDM Solution for Remote Startups

I found the implementation of JumpCloud Directory Platform to be straightforward. I was able to import users from Google Workspace and get started quickly. The Web UI is simpler to use than other products I've tried over the years. There are some user experience elements that could be improved, but nothing major to complain about. I believe it would be helpful if administrators could access the Geolocation of the device's WAN IP and features like Geofencing. It would also be beneficial to have visibility of all installed applications on the end device for auditing purposes. I would recommend that Admin/Sudo permissions include a scheduler or timer for automatic disabling. I chose JumpCloud Directory Platform for its affordability, ease of use, and support.

Excellent Unified Solution: JumpCloud Directory Platform

Jumpcloud has been crucial in helping me consolidate Security, MDM, and potentially future software updates and rollouts into one platform. I'm thrilled about the new features and roadmaps that Jumpcloud is introducing. The system is straightforward and easy to comprehend, making it user-friendly. Switching from a well-known MDM to Jumpcloud was a smooth process. The daily management of Jumpcloud is a standout feature for me. However, there are some less relevant features and one area that could be improved is the ability to push macOS applications to users, which is currently somewhat challenging. But I'm confident that Jumpcloud will resolve this issue. I chose Jumpcloud over Jamf because it's a smaller company and in my experience, smaller companies are more responsive to customer feedback and ideas for product improvement, which is definitely the case with Jumpcloud. I switched to Jumpcloud from Fleetsmith because Fleetsmith lost many of its great features and capabilities.
