It has a user-friendly interface that lets business users interact with data similarly to Excel while executing advanced analytics. Collaboration is also efficient. However, it's costly for IT to implement. They've packaged open source code into an easy-to-use interface, but their data processing fees are high compared to competitors.

As a non-data scientist, I was curious to see how Data Science Studio (DSS) by Dataiku could help me with data preparation, feature engineering, and predictive modeling for a data analysis project. My goal was to make two submissions on Kaggle challenges in under an hour without writing any code. I was genuinely impressed with the overall user-friendliness and ergonomics of the studio. Building "recipes" for data preparation primarily uses visual processors, and the operations are directly visible on a data sample, making it easier to validate preparation steps. I particularly appreciated the ability to replicate my recipes on both datasets with ease. I used the Data Visualization tool to create a few exploratory charts, which was relatively straightforward, although not as powerful as specialized tools like Tableau or Qlik. For the machine learning aspect, I limited myself to visual machine learning in the studio, which includes the most common algorithms. I found the ability to quickly benchmark and compare algorithm performance to be very useful.
