Pros from reviewers

  • Integrated helpdesk and RMM/PSA features: Atera combines helpdesk and RMM/PSA features, eliminating the need for multiple systems to meet support objectives. This integration simplifies the IT management process and improves productivity

  • Cost-effective: Atera's pricing model is based on the number of technicians, not the number of devices managed, making it a very cost-effective solution for IT management. This allows users to manage a large number of devices without incurring additional costs

  • Efficient server monitoring: Atera offers efficient server monitoring capabilities, enabling users to quickly address network issues. This feature is particularly beneficial for IT professionals who need to manage and monitor multiple devices simultaneously

  • User-friendly interface: Atera's interface is intuitive and clean, making it easy for users to navigate and manage their devices. This user-friendly design enhances the overall efficiency of the software

  • Robust scripting and patch management: Atera provides dependable patch management and robust scripting features. These features, along with third-party app deployment and patching, make Atera a comprehensive IT management solution.

Cons from reviewers

  • Inability to truncate message trail in helpdesk: The helpdesk feature does not allow technicians to truncate the message trail when replying, leading to unnecessarily long conversations between the technician and the customer.

  • Limited reporting options: While the reporting feature is improving, it currently lacks sufficient options to customize reports to specific user preferences.

  • Occasional remote connection failures: Some users have reported instances where the remote connection feature fails, hindering their ability to assist customers remotely.

  • Slow and ineffective chat support: The only available support is via chat, which some users have found to be slow and sometimes ineffective in resolving their issues.

  • Basic features locked behind paywalls: Certain basic features are inaccessible unless users pay extra, which can be frustrating for those who need these features but are on a budget.

Atera: Exceeding Expectations with Powerful Patch Management

Exceptional, Evolving Software with Outstanding Support

I believe that Atera is an incredibly valuable product, enabling me and other users to operate as a larger team. The support is always there when needed, and the team is excellent, always delivering what is necessary. The shared libraries for scripts and SNMP templates are great time-savers, though it's crucial to personally vet the scripts. The AI features are not just for show, they can save a lot of time when used properly. The developers are responsive and incorporate requested features. However, I'm frustrated that I can't add a user to multiple devices. The time tracking interface also falls short compared to other larger vendors. I chose Atera because it provides great value for money and has a fantastic support staff.

Excellent RMM Solution at an Unbelievable Value

I find Atera to be a great RMM solution at an incredible price. It's an excellent monitoring and management tool that offers nearly all the functionalities of its pricier competitors, but at a fraction of the cost. We switched from Datto to Atera earlier this year, significantly reducing our expenses without sacrificing management capabilities. The inclusion of a free version of Splashtop has been beneficial in situations where Teamviewer failed. I appreciate that the features are constantly updated with new, useful additions that are released and documented monthly.

      Deteriorating Quality of Atera

I've been using Atera since 2015 and have seen many improvements over the years. However, since 2019, the quality has started to decline. The website is slow, the remote support often fails, and there seems to be a lack of genuine support. Whenever I report a problem, I usually get a generic response suggesting I clear my cookies and history, which doesn't fix the issue. As an IT company, we can identify a problem and clearing our browsers won't fix their issues. It's embarrassing when I can't assist a customer remotely due to system failures. I'm thinking about switching to another RMM. Atera's price point is excellent, but only if it worked properly. The remote feature has been consistently failing since January 2019. Customer support is responsive, but in a generic way. The vendor responded to my feedback, admitting that their old infrastructure was tested as they grew and expanded their customer base, which may have caused performance issues.

      Simply Outstanding!

After trying several different RMM & PSA solutions in a short time, Atera has been a breath of fresh air for me. It's powerful, easy to navigate, and has an excellent user interface. Moreover, the staff and customer service are simply outstanding. Thank you, Atera!

Our Uncompromising and Showy IT Monitoring System

I really appreciate Atera as it allows me to monitor multiple devices without any additional costs. It offers efficient server monitoring and enables me to quickly address network issues. I can simultaneously monitor more than one device at no extra cost and the interface is user-friendly. So far, I have no complaints about it. The vendor responded positively, expressing happiness that their interface has facilitated an easy and efficient experience for me. They confirmed that their goal is to allow quick resolution of network issues and simultaneous monitoring of multiple devices without extra charges. They were pleased that Atera has fulfilled my needs without any dissatisfaction. They responded in November 2023.

Intermediate RMM and PSA Solution with Atera

I appreciate Atera's combination of helpdesk and RMM/PSA features, as it eliminates the need for multiple systems to meet our support objectives. The product is maturing and actively being developed, and while there are a few issues, they are usually resolved easily by Atera's support team. The cost is per technician created in the system, and it doesn't matter whether you have 5 or 5000 endpoints in your customer base. The pricing is predictable and stable. Atera has a features board where subscribers can see what features are recently added, approved for development, being considered or have just been requested. However, the helpdesk does not allow the technician to truncate the message trail when replying, which can make the messages between technician and customer very long. The reporting feature is improving, but there are not enough options to get reports just the way I want them. I chose Atera because of its low cost and appealing feature set. I switched from LogMeIn.

Happy I Made the Switch to Atera

I find Atera to be a smaller and newer RMM solution with nice people. I appreciate their pricing model which offers unlimited access for a single price, and the inclusion of a remote access solution, Splashtop. Although it lacks some features that my previous RMM solution had, they are constantly working on improvements. I prefer a company that is striving to improve over one that is tired and apathetic. My main complaint is that their support is only available via chat, which can be slow and sometimes ineffective. Overall, I'm glad I switched to Atera.

Two Steps Forward, One Step Back: A Review on Atera

I've been using Atera since its inception and while it's good, improvements often come at the expense of something else. I wish they would focus on improving the user interface, not for aesthetic changes, but for better workflow and ease of use. For instance, pasted text in ticket responses has a background color that is nearly invisible on most monitors. I've requested multiple times over the past five years for this to be addressed, either by removing the background color or making it more noticeable. This seems like a minor bug that could be easily fixed, but it remains unresolved. The accumulation of such annoyances has frustrated me to the point where I'm considering switching to a different product.

Atera: My Essential IT Multi-Tool for Daily Use

Indispensable. I've recommended Atera to my colleagues multiple times. I used to log into servers with Microsoft Remote Desktop, but now I use Splashtop installed through Atera for both servers and laptops. Before Atera, I used Teams to assist users with endpoint issues, which was data-consuming. With Atera, it's much more efficient. The best part is that I pay for an admin SEAT, not for the number of devices I manage. The tools are intuitive, the interface is clean. I manage over 50 Windows devices and servers from my MacBook Pro. Setting up and enrolling devices is simple. I still need to adjust my alert thresholds as I get too many for memory usage and storage use over 85%. I also need to configure audio properly for assisting end users through Splashtop. I chose Atera to manage our infrastructure in-house, which is very cost-effective. I switched to Atera to cut down on IT costs through a third-party.

Atera: Cloud-Based IT Management at its Best

I have been using Atera, a cloud-based IT management platform, for over a year and I am extremely satisfied with its features and performance. It allows me to monitor and manage multiple clients from a single dashboard and automate tasks like patching, backup, and reporting. Atera also has an integrated helpdesk system that works with email and chat, making customer communication and issue resolution easy. It's very affordable and scalable, charging per technician instead of per device, allowing me to add more devices without increasing the cost.

Atera: The Lifeline of Our MSP Business

My overall experience with Atera has been positive. I value the software and see great potential in it. It's straightforward to set up and comprehend, and it provides dependable patch management. It also incorporates third-party app deployment and patching, boasts robust scripting features, and facilitates easy remote access to clients. However, some basic features are locked behind paywalls, remote connections can occasionally fail, and it can sometimes be a bit sluggish. The SNMP monitoring also requires some improvement. I opted for Atera because it was simple to obtain a month-long trial without any limitations. Other alternatives like Datto and Ninja were too costly, and while Syncro was similar, I didn't appreciate its interface and workflow. Nsight presented us with problems during testing and we couldn't get it to function correctly. Atera was the most transparent in terms of pricing.
